2 How to apply Please complete the application form in block capitals and ink and return it to the RIBA by post or . Membership Development Royal Institute of British Architects 66 Portland Place London W1B 1AD Next steps by the RIBA Your name will be put forward for election by the Membership Admissions Committee. This will occur within 4 weeks of your application being received. Once your application has been approved, you will then receive your welcome pack. The pack includes your membership card and information about how to access your RIBA benefits and services. Payment for membership must be made on application, please go to Step one to work out your pro-rata subscription fee. Who can join Affiliate Members must meet one of the following criteria: Passed an RIBA recognised Part 1 examination in architecture. Be a full member of an institute on the CIC list (Construction Industry Council). Be a lecturer, or similar position, at an architectural school. Have a professional interest in architecture and/or construction. Examples of eligible occupations are shown on the subsequent application form. Previous RIBA Members If you were previously an Affiliate Member, you will need to complete the readmission form, which can be found on the RIBA website. Please call Membership Development on +(0) if you have any questions about re-joining. Step one: Calculate your subscription fee Membership runs from January to ember, therefore if you join part of the way through the year, you will only pay for the remaining months of the current year. 4 Step three: Your eligibility Please confirm that you are eligible for Affiliate Membership by completing one of the four options A, B, C or D A. If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit the Royal Institute of British Architects will notify you 14 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request the Royal Institute of British Architects to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request. If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by the Royal Institute of British Architects or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society. If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the Royal Institute of British Architects asks you to.
