Composed specifications for projects using Spec Link software. Assisted in the documentation of several projects, both residential and equestrian. Bower Lewis Thrower Architects Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Intermediate Level Architect Project architect for the design and construction administration of restaurants for internationally acclaimed chefs. Coordinated the work of engineers, lighting designers, kitchen designers, and interior designers. Extensive experience acquired in custom furnishings. Collaborated with the Rockwell Group on the Bobby Flay Steak restaurant (total fit-out cost $900 psf), and with Tihany Design for the Michael Mina, Seablue restaurant, (fitout cost $460 psf) at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Project architect for the adaptive re-use of a 19th century, three-story historic secondary school building to a commercial use. Required extensive building survey, as well as research of period materials and methods of construction. Prepared construction documents for the renovation of commercial, office, support spaces, and laboratories for Bristol-Myers Squibb and Smith Kline Beecham over a period of several years.drew architectural plans for the renovation of multiple floors in academic research buildings at Cornell and Wake Forest universities. Assisted in programming, documentation and construction administration for new and renovated healthcare and support spaces for the campuses of Temple University, and regional hospitals. Shared primary responsibility for the documentation of the Operating Suite of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, which received the Best Historic Restoration/ Adaptive Reuse 2005 Construction Excellence Award from the General Building Contractors Association. The 33,000 SF multi-building, multi-floor expansion and renovation project provided the hospital with four new operating rooms and perioperative services. One of the primary challenges in designing the suite was to maintain the University s architectural integrity while integrating cutting-edge technology. It was also necessary to keep the buildings open during construction, requiring phased construction and much coordination. The suite joined three existing buildings, while at the same time, straddling the lower floors of one of the buildings. These were also equipment-intensive projects, requiring thorough coordination with engineering disciplines.

The American Institute of Architects Director, Professional Practice Developed, managed, directed, and implemented programs as Director of the Academy of Architecture for Health, a Professional Interest Area of the AIA. Provided information, leadership, and resources for the practice of architecture. Managed the contractual and financial obligations for each program (annual budget $700,000 ). Coordinated, scheduled, budgeted, and prioritized multiple projects, including educational conferences of 50 to 1,500 people, workshops, publications, design programs, and student scholarships. Supported liaison relationships with allied organizations. Developed agreements for sponsorship of programs and awards. Contracted with consultants for graphic arts, telemarketing, editorial, printing, and web site design. Directed logistical arrangements for all products and services. Worked closely with a board of directors composed of architects nationwide, and internal staff and other departments to coordinate resources and maximize the goals of the group within the larger framework of the Institute. Wheeler and Guay Architects Kelso & Easter Architects Alexandria, Virginia Intern Architect (part-time, in graduate school) Prepared construction documents for commercial, retail, and custom residential projects (hand and AutoCAD). Conducted site surveys. Designed accessible modifications to facilities. Prepared presentations for historic review boards and public agencies, including Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation. For a new facilities management division at the same firm, assisted in the development of the corporation in marketing, and writing the brochure. Wrote, conducted and analyzed facilities management benchmarking surveys published in Facilities Design & Management, Today's Facility Manager, and Facility Issues. United States Congress Office of Technology Assessment Analyst 1995 Prepared an Assessment for Congress: Residential Technologies for Elderly People and People with Disabilities: Issues in Innovation, Regulation, and Implementation. Analyzed the effect of laws and building codes on innovation in the design of facilities for the elderly and disabled. Participated in research, and co-authored the proceedings of the workshops. Worked with federal and state agencies, health care facilities, manufacturers, and architects. The findings were published by the National Institute of Building Sciences. The proceedings may be purchased through NIBS at: Mid-Atlantic Financial Group Richmond, Virginia Purchasing Agent and Architectural Designer As purchasing agent for the Construction Department, conducted bidding and purchase of materials for 120 single and multi-family homes. Prepared cost estimates and drawings for custom construction changes. Designed one house, which was built and sold, repeatedly. Prepared specifications for appraisal and loan packages. Assisted with all phases of residential development, through land clearing, to product development and marketing, to single and multi-family residential construction, to sales and lending.

Secretary for Science and National Museum of Natural History Summer Intern 1978 In the executive offices of the Smithsonian Institution, served compiled expenditure data for the various Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo. At the National Museum of Natural History, cataloged and labeled specimens. Gormar Robotics San Diego, California Draftsperson/ Lab Assistant 1984 (part-time, in college) Participated in a start-up, high technology company as a part-time employee. Drafted hand drawings of machinery for a prototype walking robot. Interfaced with machinists for the manufacture of steel parts. Researched building accessibility issues and the Americans with Disabilities Act to assist in understanding the environmental challenges for a mobile robot. Randall/Lamb Associates Consulting Electrical Engineers San Diego, California Draftsperson Hand-drafted lighting and electrical plans for a variety of commercial projects for award-winning lighting consultants and electrical engineers. Coordinated architectural and electrical drawings. Completed two lighting fundamentals courses, with Certificate, offered by the Illuminating Engineers Society of North America.

5 5. University Service The University of Oklahoma Friends to International Students Board Member and Secretary, 2008 to present College of International Studies. Friends to International Students assists degree seeking and exchange foreign college students at the University of Oklahoma in social and cultural orientation in the United States. Relationships begin when the student arrives at OU, but can last a lifetime. Having been a student in another country, I enjoy building ties, good will, and relationships with people from dozens of countries. Affiliations and Activities American Institute of Architects Central Oklahoma Chapter Participate in national and regional topic specific events and local networking and educational meetings. Our renovation of an underground residence has been selected for inclusion on the AIA Central Oklahoma Chapter 2013 Architecture Tour and will be featured in Oklahoma newspapers and magazines.
