1 MD Anderson Lodging List - Other American Cancer Society s Hotel Partners Program Various Hotels Varies with hotel ACS in conjunction with hotels provides overnight accommodations to cancer patients who must travel for outpatient treatment. All accommodations are provided based on eligibility requirements, are subject to availability and restrictions imposed by the participating hotels. Special requests, such as petfriendly and shuttle services, will be taken into consideration and should be stated at the time the request. For more information or to request hotel lodging, please contact the American Cancer Society at Requests for lodging are met on a first-come, firstserved basis and must be submitted at least two-weeks prior to the date lodging is needed. Some hotels offer free nights, some offer rooms at discounted rates. Patients are responsible for all additional charges, other than the room charge i.e. parking fees, room service, etc. in addition to any damage caused by the guests. Patients being treated at healthcare facilities anywhere in Harris County are eligible provided they live more than 50 miles away from the Texas Medical Center and will have a caregiver with them 24/4 during their entire stay. Hospitality Apartments does NOT for its apartments. The only cost is a $100 cleaning fee. Minimum stay is 2 weeks - max stay is 3 months. Each apartment has a bedroom, living room, and kitchenette. Aishel House provides Jewish chaplaincy services to area hospitals. In addition, volunteers can help with child care during a patient's stay in the hospital. Each house is designed to provide 8 to 21 suites and can accommodate 16 to 42 family members. They feature a common kitchen, laundry facilities, spacious dining room, living room with library, and toys for children. Foundation houses pediatric cancer families at no cost. An interview prior to approval and moving in is required. Chance For Hope ONLY houses pediatric cancer families, NO adults. There are 3 forms that need to be completed to be considered for an apartment: guest liability form, apartment policies, and credit card authorization form. Chance for Hope Foundation provides free housing for pediatric patients / families only (no adult patients). $500 deposit prior to move-in. This amount will be refunded to families provided that the apartment is left in same condition.
