Note: some dictionaries limit verandas to the first floor, but we fancy the term for at least the first two stories of this delightful, flexible home. Built in 1998 and purchased new by the current owners as a guest house to complement their residence elsewhere on the island, it has experienced little heavy use, Realtor Mike Caron of Compass Realty noted, and the normal wear and tear of weather has been meticulously repaired. Flooring throughout the first floor (and on the third floor landing) is travertine, while the unusually wide stairway that angles up to the second floor, as well as the hall and both bedrooms, are covered in pristine carpet. e master bedroom upstairs opens onto the upper, wraparound veranda with the pool view; there is a walk-in closet and a handsome sleigh bed of that same braided hemp. e art-filled ensuite bath has twin sinks and a totally glass-enclosed party shower. e smaller guest bedroom also opens onto the veranda and its en suite bath contains a glass enclosed tub with shower.
