2 DLegacy Design isionary Architecture FIRM PROFILE Formed in 1975, the firm of DA Architects was founded on the basic principle of creating high quality architecture with an emphasis on providing excellent service to the client. Utilizing a team approach, the firm employs extremely talented key personnel, each of whom possesses a wide variety of expertise in the field of architecture and its related professions. It is through the team s active participation in every project that the original goals of quality architecture and excellent service are maintained. We currently have 32 Architects and Administrative Personnel on staff. DA Architects, LLC is a certified eteran Owned Small Business located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. DA Architects specializes in base building architecture, interior design, project management, feasibility studies, and land planning services. The firm is involved in a variety of award winning projects including the planning and design of commercial, industrial, educational and residential spaces. Accompanying this experience is the belief in constant, open communication with clients on those matters that touch the full range of the built environment. In addition to the greater Washington/Baltimore region, we have also done multiple projects in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Chicago, Richmond, and Santa Clara, California. In 2002 DA opened a subsidiary, DA Energy, which offered in depth Consulting and Analysis on LEED, Energy Star, ASHRAE Energy Audits, and alternative energy sources. DA Architects has always been a developer s architect that strives to combine striking architecture within an owner s budget and market. Their excellent record of repeat clients, spanning over 40 years, reflects this effort. It is the firm s dedication to design excellence and communication that has enabled DA Architects to become one of the Washington metropolitan area s top-ranked architecture firms. 3 DLegacy Design isionary Architecture LEADERSHIP Richard A. Donnally, AIA LEED AP Mr. Donnally is a Senior Principal of DA Architects in the Washington DC Metro Region. Mr. Donnally leads the firm s vision and design direction. He brings over 40 years of experience in planning, architectural design, and construction techniques under his direct stewardship and active leadership at every stage of project cycle. Mr. Donnally received his degree in Architecture with High Honors from the University of Maryland and is a registered Architect in multiple states including Maryland, Pennsylvania, Illinois, the District of Columbia, and irginia, as well as holding a national NCARB registration. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Potomac alley Chapter A.I.A., and participated in national studies of energy conscious design for the U.S. Department of Energy. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and is a founding chairman of the MD/DC NAIOP Sustainable Development Committee. Mr. Donnally is an active member of the Building Officials and Code Administrators (BOCA), the ASTM committee on Home Land Security, the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, the Historic League of D.C., and is a member, contributing editor, and frequent lecturer of The Urban Land Institute and Johns Hopkins University. 4 DLegacy Design isionary Architecture LEADERSHIP Bob ujcic, AIA Mr. ujcic is a Principal of DA Architects in Gaithersburg, MD with over 37 years design and project management experience. He actively participates in all aspects of the A/E practice and specializes in Program analysis, Design, Building/Life Safety Codes, Construction Specification, Engineering Coordination, and Construction Administration and Monitoring. His speciality is the renovation of buildings. Mr. ujcic has completed numerous adaptive reuse and renovations throughout his career. Mr. ujcic s well respected ability to systematically analyze and interpret each client s requirements and approach each Project with the highest degree of professional attention and care have ensured the successful and timely completion of construction within the anticipated budget for all projects. Mr. ujcic is a member of the Potomac alley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). 5 DLegacy Design isionary Architecture LEADERSHIP Amy R. O Neal Ms. O Neal is the Director of Interiors at DA Architects in Gaithersburg, MD. She received her Bachelor of Interior Design with honors from George Washington University and is a certified interior designer by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). She brings more than 18 years of interior design and client relations experience to her role as Director of Interiors at DA Architects, where she will leverage her expertise in the hospitality, commercial interior and government spaces to brand, promote, design and develop new business opportunities in interiors and architecture for DA Architects. Ms. O Neal directs the DA Interiors department, integrating creative and technical solutions in designing spaces that are functional, enhance the quality of life and culture of the occupants and respond to the social context of each individual client. She enjoys building client relations resulting in enhanced delivery of product and services. Amy has also worked on such projects as The University Club, Baltimore Residence Inn, The irginian Suites, Amtrak, National Association of Wholesalers, Edelman Financial Services, St. Elizabeth s Campus Consolidation, U.S. Treasury Building, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. From site master planning, through design, construction, and occupancy, we provide smart, cost effective sustainable solutions. DA Energy completed 27 LEED certified projects, 18 current LEED projects, and 30 current projects for energy efficiency, benchmarking and energy star certification. HIGHLIGHTS OF KEY PROJECTS: First speculative office LEED Gold Core and Shell building in Northern irginia - 230,000 square feet. Six LEED certified Data Centers in irginia, New Jersey, and California totalling 2.8 million square feet, and four more in progress totalling an additional 1.6 million square feet. Design of first geothermal system for a platinum level Leed speculative office building in Northern irginia. First Green Roof in Montgomery County (2002). Green design strategies for $200 Million waste to electricity plant in Howard County. Renovation of 180,000 square foot office building in Tysons Corner to achieve LEED Gold certification. Design of Net Zero Energy LEED Platinum Wildlife Sanctuary in Gaithersburg, MD. Also, a Living Building NZE certification project. ENERGY STAR - Several Benchmarking, Analysis, and Upgrade Studies. ASHRAE - Level I and Level II Energy Use Studies with Energy Conservation Measure Analysis. Renovation - Guidance on Envelope Upgrades, Tax Incentives, and Utility Company Rebates.
