Commenting on São Paulo as the chosen location of the New Cities Summit 2013, the world-renowned architect and New Cities Foundation Trustee Daniel Libeskind said: "São Paulo has incredible energy and vitality and also a vision for the 21st century. It is the perfect place for the important discussions we will have at the New Cities Summit." Oded Grajew, Founder and general coordinator of the Executive Secretariat, Rede Nossa São Paulo, said: There is an increasing awareness that it is no longer possible for humanity to maintain the current development model. We must create the transition to a sustainable development.
