SCAPE SCAPE is a design-driven landscape architecture and urban design studio based in New York comprised of professionals with expertise in landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, horticulture, public engagement, and planning. The studio integrates these skillsets to practice design as interpreters and synthetic thinkers who lead and work with teams of engineers and architects on complex projects. SCAPE also believes in working with stakeholders to translate community vision into realizable actions. Surrounded by water on three sides, SCAPE s design for Red Hoek Point integrates aquatic habitat and recreation into a low-rise commercial development on the former site of the Revere Sugar Factory. The 2,000 linear foot waterfront features unique edges. The east esplanade features tidal ecosystems and kayaking, while the west celebrates the bustling maritime traffic of Erie Basin and directs views to the Statue of Liberty. An axial courtyard unites the two commercial structures with a series of outdoor rooms and walkways that lead to the water. Above, an undulating green roof provides space for running, walking meetings, and active events.
