15 /15 (oon-fair-zot) is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Architecture at Taubman College, where his teaching focuses on visual communication and interdisciplinary design methodologies. He teaches graduate design studio and serves as the faculty advisor for the journal Dimensions. Unverzagt focuses his professional work as the design director at M1/DTW, a nationally recognized, multidiscipinary studio operating at the intersection of design and cultural production. M1/DTW s clients range from emerging entrepreneurs to established cultural and educational institutions, with projects ranging from adaptive reuse to branding. Since its founding in 2000, the studio has completed over one-hundred commissioned works. Recent projects include Signal Return Press, Mills Pharmacy + Apothecary, and the Sugar Hill Arts District identity. Unverzagt has received numerous award s, including I.D. Magazine s Annual Design Review and a 50 Books award from the AIGA. In 2007, 6 salon was named Best Salon Design in North America. M1/DTW s work has been published in Architectural Record, Atlantic Cities, I.D., & Print Magazine. Unverzagt received an M.Arch with distinction from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles and also studied at the California Institute of the Arts (Cal-Arts) and in Unit 12 at The Bartlett, University College London. Unverzagt lives and works in Lafayette Park, Detroit, where he is active member of the community, helping to steward the neighborhood s legacy of design while fostering awareness and discussion of its contemporary condition.
