Jason Spence 1. Buyer Registration: Anyone may attend the auction and bid on any Exhibitor s projects as long as he/she is registered as an Official Buyer. If you are not pre-registered, please go to the registration table and register as an Official Buyer. Any person under 21 years of age will not be admitted into the buyer area without a parent or guardian. There is a registration fee of $50 per individual, which may be used towards the purchase of a lot (the Buyer Registration Credit ). This Buyer Registration Credit cannot be used for add-on purchases. When you register, you will receive a card with a buyer (the Buyer Number Card ) to identify you as a buyer during bidding. Please use your buyer number on all purchases. If you received an auction invitation, you are pre-registered and will only need to check-in at the registration table in order to obtain your Buyer Number Card. 2. How the Auction Works: Attached is the sale catalog which lists all the Junior Exhibitors in order of sale. If you wish to bid on an Exhibitor s project, raise the Buyer Number Card. Whether or not you are the successful bidder, your bid will help the sale. If you need help in the bidding, ask one of the ring men to assist you. Bidding will continue until a high bid is reached. The highest bidder wins. Only buyers bidding $500 and above will be announced due to time constraints. This will be strictly enforced. This auction is a terminal sale, meaning that you do not get the Exhibitor s project (exception, art.) Once the Auctioneer announces the successful bid, any additional funds are considered add-ons. If you desire to add-on to the purchase price, please follow the procedures set forth in Paragraph 4 below.

Auction Caps: Auction Caps are as follows: Grand Champions Steers... $30,000 Goats... $12,000 Hogs... $12,000 Lambs... $12,000 Broilers... $5,000 Rabbits... $5,000 Turkeys... $5,000 Art... $5,000 Reserve Grand Champions Steers... $20,000 Goats... $8,000 Hogs... $8,000 Lambs... $8,000 Broilers... $4,000 Rabbits... $4,000 Turkeys... $4,000 Art... $4,000 The Grand Champion of each species must sell for more than the Reserve Grand Champion of its species. The Reserve Grand Champion of each species must sell for more than lower placing animals of its species. These rules apply to Art lots. In the event that the amount bid for an animal or art exceeds any of the above auction caps, the excess money will be contributed to the auction cap fund. 4. Add-ons: Add-ons are funds added-on to an Exhibitor s project after the Auctioneer has announced the successful purchase price. In order to add-on to the purchase price of an Exhibitor s project, you must complete the Add-On Form, which you may obtain from the Auction Bank. All add-ons must be recorded, signed and paid for no later than 30 minutes following the conclusion of the auction. 5. Acknowledgement of Purchase: If you are the successful bidder and have purchased an Exhibitor s project, Auction Runners will come to you and have you complete the Acknowledgement of Purchase Form immediately following the sale of the item. If there is more than one buyer of a lot, buyers that have signed the Acknowledgment of Purchase represent and warrant that they are authorized to act on behalf of such entity or company and personally guarantee payment of the amount of the final bid price. 6. Check-Out: Rodeo Austin will act as cashier for the auction. Checks should be made payable to Rodeo Austin. Please pay for your purchases before leaving the auction. Check-out is available at the Auction Bank. You may close out your balance at any time during the auction. The Auction Bank will remain open for 30 minutes following the auction. All major credit cards are accepted for payment. 7. Auction Payment: Any person, including but not limited to any individual, Buyer s Group or other group affiliation (herein called Buyer ), is required to pay his/her auction purchases in full at the conclusion of any auction sponsored by Rodeo Austin. If Buyer fails to pay for his/her auction purchases in full at the conclusion of any auction and full payment is not received within thirty (30) days of the conclusion of such auction, the Rodeo Austin Executive Committee may request that such Buyer submit a valid credit card with Rodeo Austin to pay the Buyer s outstanding auction purchase balance. If Buyer fails to pay for his/her auction purchases in full within ninety (90) days of the conclusion of such auction, the Buyer shall be required to submit a valid credit card to Rodeo Austin to pay the Buyer s outstanding auction purchase balance. Additionally, the Buyer shall be required to maintain a valid credit card with Rodeo Austin prior to such Buyer being assigned a buyer s number for any future

4 auction sponsored by Rodeo Austin to guarantee payment for any future auction purchases that are not paid in full at the conclusion of the auction. 8. Resale Proceeds: Successful purchasers have the option of crediting any resale proceeds to the Rodeo Austin Scholarship Fund or crediting any resale proceeds to the purchase price. If the resale proceeds are credited to the purchase price of the lot, the resale proceeds will be credited pro rata to each buyer if there is more than one buyer per lot. For example, if the total purchase price was $2, and there were 3 Buyers paying $500.00, $500.00, and $1, respectively, and the resale proceeds were $800.00, the Buyers contributing $ to the purchase price would be credited with $ each and the buyer contributing $1, would be credited with $ Any resale proceed that is credited to the purchase price will be reflected on the Buyer Invoice Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Auction Results: Grand Champion Junior Market Steer...
