Rakesh Aggarwal from Institute of Technology- Karnataka, Surathkal conducted a workshop on Product Development Programme on , where students are trained on know - how about design process for product development. More than 60 students participated in this programme. h. World Alliances for Youth Empowerment (WAYE) -Art of Living in association with student welfare department Canara Engineering College conducted YES! + (Youth Empowerment & Skills) workshop on 27 th Mar to 1 st April 2012 for hostel students as part of personality development programme

Mattress disinfection unit prototype designed by team Canara (Ms.Swapna Shenoy, Ms.Suman Shenoy, Ms. Priya Baliga all from 2 nd year CS), Ms. Varsha Kamath 3 rd year CS under the guidance of Mr. Ashok Shenoy was displayed at IIM - Ahmadabad on the occasion of Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award-2012 held on 05/04/12. It was organized by SRISTI and project was among 40 selected projects out of 12,000 entries. l. A workshop on Awareness of Design Clinic Scheme- MSME held at the college by Prof Achutha Rao, Industrial Coordinator, Institute of Design on Under this scheme, financial assistance is extended to students up to a total of 2 Lakhs for their engineering projects and up to 15 Lakhs to faculty for their professional projects. The program concluded with a student interaction program about viability of several student ideas and several problem statements in the need of solution were discussed. More than 300 students participated in the program. m. IIP Cell conducted Robotics Workshop 2 nd batch at the college in association with EVOBI Technologies, Bangalore on 25 th & 26 th Aug Total 54 students from Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, Information Science branches have participated in it. n. IIP Cell conducted Guest lecture on Innovative Project by Dr. C.G Srinivas from UBDTCE, Davangere on 29 th Aug Total 100 students from Electronics and Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, Information Science branches have participated. o. Onam celebration was held in our college on 3 rd September Pookalam (Flower arrangement competition) & cultural activities were arranged on the occasion. t. Freshers Day was celebrated on 4 Sep for First year students along with cultural activities. u. Service Scheme (NSS ) was inaugurated on 3 Oct by Mr. Madhu V Manohar, Environmental Engineer, Mangalore Corporation. v. Auydha Pooja was celebrated on 20 Oct w. Inaugural function of CNC Milling Machine, Placement Cabins and Scholarship programme was held on 31 Oct x. Kannada Rajyostsava celebration in association with Dept. of Kannada and College NSS unit was held on 02 Nov Dr. Prabhakara Joshi famous scholar and critic was the chief guest y. An Anti-crackers awareness jatha was held by students on 10 Nov 2012 prior to Deepavali celebrations students went to the Govt. High School and P U College to spread the message concluded by a public address to them. z. On the occasion of Founder day, a free Health Check up camp was organized on 19 Nov by the association of KMC Mangalore. More than 200 people took the benefit of this medical camp. Prof.T.N Shanbhogue (HOD E&E) is consultant to Mangalore Consultancy activities City Corporation and other ULB s in the D.K District in Electrical Energy Conservation System.
