Sarah Ann SWAN had a daughter Mary Jane FRANCIS who was born about 1847 Hutt New Zealand. Mary Jane FRANCIS was thought to have been the daughter of Sarah s parents but she was actually the illegitimate daughter of Sarah Ann FRANCIS and this was confirmed on her 1866 Intention to marry application. There was an 1852 birth for Mary SWAN registered as 1852 folio 1193 Auckland district. In the district keys the Auckland registration district numbers ran from 329 to 434 so perhaps folio 1193 could be an error and this may be Stephen and Sarah daughter Mary Ann SWAN. The website registration 1852/977 also recorded Auckland district but there was also other 3
