But I think the way I live is maybe the most meaningful." Ward Bennett Ward Bennett s design work and more importantly how he lived is a major influence and inspiration for Fisher Grey. This exhibition displays examples of Bennett s work amidst curated fine art prints, photographs and objects from the Fisher Grey Collection. Bennett was a true Renaissance man. He got his start in the fashion industry, studied sculpture with Brancusi in Paris, painting with Hans Hofmann and shared a studio with Louise Nevelson. Bennett designed everything from furniture to flatware from homes to jewelry. His clients included Gianni Agnelli, the Italian industrialist; David Rockefeller and the Chase Manhattan Bank; Tiffany s; and Jann Wenner, the publisher of Rolling Stone magazine. Mention the name Ward Bennett and you ll likely get a puzzled look. But from the 1960s through the 1980s...was one of America s best-known designers. He was famous for his luxurious brand of modernism and for pared-down, sumptuous interiors that skillfully integrated antiques and contemporary pieces.
