10 About Webster, MA Webster, MA is a medium-sized community located in south central Massachusetts. The town was founded in1832 and was primarily an industrial center due to its abundant water supply. Textiles and shoe factories flourished resulting in a diverse ethnic population. The town is 18 miles south of Worcester, 56 miles southwest of Boston, 33 miles northwest of Providence, RI and 16 miles from New York City. I-395 connects Webster to Mass Turnpike( I-9) and I-29.
