1 2018 JSP Werribee Region Werribee Secondary College, 45 Duncans Rd, Werribee Venue Details Drop off and Pick up Students should be dropped off and picked up from the shade sail area near the library. DAV and host school personnel will be on site until the final debate has concluded each round, or 15 minutes after the scheduled finish time, whichever is later. It is our expectation that there will be a supervising staff member of other designated adult contact for each of the rounds to supervise their students while at the venue. Parking Parking is available in the service road which runs along Duncans Road. Debates Debates will be held in the E rooms. Please enter near E5. A map of the school is attached at the end of the document. Child Safety The DAV requires that all adjudicators hold either a current Working With Children Check or appropriate registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. The DAV keeps an up to date record of these details for all adjudicators. Where the DAV becomes aware of information which may be relevant to mandatory reporting requirements the DAV will liaise with any concerned schools to ensure that these requirements can be met. If your school has additional Child Safety procedures in place please contact the DAV in advance of the round so that we can facilitate these. 2 Overview of Nights Night 1 Basic Training Session The aim of this session is to bring all students to a similar level in terms of understandings about debating. Start Finish Night 2; Round One Exhibition Debate The aim of this session is to showcase a high quality debate by the adjudicators. Debate Round 1 Exhibition Debate Night 3; Round Two Extension Session The aim of this session is to extend some key concepts in debating, including rebuttal. Training Seminar Debate Round 2 Night 4; Round Three Extended Adjudication The aim of this session is to consolidate skills through a training and feedback orientated adjudication which has specific reference to Night 3 s worksheet.
