7 Project Introduction Overseas built project in Nepal Bottom-up students initiative Current students of HKU Faculty of Architecture being the core participants The project will improve the physical environment of a dilapidated lower-secondary school in Nepal Participants collectively providing comprehensive solutions in interdisciplinary manner Delivering the plans on the subject school site through a service trip Working alongside local Nepalese workers and community members

8 Project Introduction Project aims Improving the physical environment of the subject school; Building up the social capital of local Nepalese community members; Promoting knowledge and cultural exchange; Providing participating students opportunities to acquire hands-on experience of built project; and Fostering the students commitment as global citizens during their early professional development stage.

9 Service Target Location Shree Nabin Lower Secondary School Located at south-eastern side of Bhaktapur, Nepal, a UNESCO heritage town for its cultural significance 3-storey building amid local neighborhood

Service Target Operation mode Accommodating 12 classes with 132 students ranging from 18-month to 13-year old from different parts of the town 12 teaching

10 Service Target Operation mode Accommodating 12 classes with 132 students ranging from 18-month to 13-year old from different parts of the town 12 teaching staff and 2 working staff Entirely government funded School classrooms occasionally serving as the meeting and assembly venue for the neighboring community
