9 ORLANDO MSA RECORD-BREAKING VISITOR VOLUME THRIVING LOCAL ECONOMY With record-breaking visitor volume and a thriving local economy with the secondhighest national population growth since 2010, the Orlando retail market has rebounded well from the downturn. Retail sales have picked up considerably, and though 2016 was down in overall transaction value from recent years, it remained strong with sales volume exceeding the historical average.
