1 Being a by law af The Corpo ration of the City af Timmins to provide for the Numbering af Buildings WHEREAS Section 8 af the Municipal Act SO 2001 c 25 pravides that a municipality has the capacity rights powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising its authority under the Act AND WHEREAS Section 9 provides that Sections 8 and 11 shall be interpreted broadly so as to canfer broad authority on municipalities to a enable municipalities to govern their affairs as they consider apprapriate and b enhance their ability to respond to municipal issues AND WHEREAS Section 11 provides that a single tier municipality may pass by laws respecting matters within the spheres of jurisdictian set aut therein including structures fences and signs AND WHEREAS Section 116 provides that a municipality may establish maintain and aperate a centralized communication system for emergency response purposes AND WHEREAS the Council af The Corporation of the City of Timmins deems it necessary for the safety and welfare of its citizens to have all buildings in the City display an assigned municipal address for prompt identification by emergency service persannel AND WHEREAS Section provides that if a municipality has authority by by law otherwise to direct or require that a matter or thing be dane the municipality may in the same or another by law direct that in default of it being done by the person directed or require to do it such matter or thing shall be done at the persans expense AND WHEREAS for the purposes of subsectian 1 Section 427 provides that the municipality may enter upon land and into structures at any reasanable time AND WHEREAS Sectian provides that the municipality may recaver the casts af daing a thing or matter under subsection 1 from the person directed or required to do it and the municipality may recover the costs by actian or by adding the costs to the tax roll and collecting them in the same manner as taxes NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corparation of the City of Timmins enacts as follows DEFINITIONS 1 For the purpose of this by law the following definitions shall apply a Building means without limiting the generality af the following any structure of a permanent or temporary nature used or built for any person use and includes but not limited to a house affice residential trailer retail stare factory garage storage facility warehouse apartment complex condominium business residence etc However buildings hall not include sheds pool pump houses cabanas dog houses ar similar structures b City means The Corporation of the City of Timmins c Director means the Director of Engineering and Public Works far the City af Timmins d Driveway means that partion of the lat designed to provide vehicular or pedestrian traffic from a highway to a lot access e Highway means a common and public highway street avenue laneway driveway square place bridge any part of which is intended ar used by the general public for the passage of vehicles and includes the area between the lateral property lines thereof

5 By law No Schedule A Rule Area for the Purposes of Municipal Address Signs FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS BY LAW THE RURAL AREAS SHALL INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING b The following highways in the Township of Mountjoy 8 All those highways west of and including Government Road North and Government South 9 Shirley Street north of Power Ave 10 Dalton Road west from the walking trail 11 Airport Road from McChesney Road to the Airport 12 Laforest Road from the Airport Road easterly to the Township line 13 MacLean Drive northerly from Victoria Avenue 14 Sandy Falls Road Luoma Road Kraft Creek Road Lefebvre Road b The following highways in the Township of Tisdale 4 Highway 655 from Algonquin Blvd northerly to the City Limits 5 Laforest Road from Highway 655 westerly to the Township line 6 Goldmine Road c The following highways in the Township of Whitney 5 Highway 101 East from theonr Rail Crossing at King Street to the City limits 6 Goldrush Street from Lyall Avenue to Haileybury Crescent 7 Florence Street north of Remembrance Street 8 Langmuir Road Hallnor Road d The following highways in the Township of Deloro 3 Goldmine Road 4 Delnite Road from Goldmine Road to the Delnite Townsite e All the highways found in the following Townships 4 Bristol Township except for those private highways found in the private developments 5 German Township except for those highways found in the Connaught Townsite 6 Robb Jamieson Godfrey Jessop Ogden Shaw Evelyn Matheson Cody and Langmuir f Notwithstanding the above noted highways listed in this schedule the Director may designate any highway within the City of Timmins to be in a rural area
