RESOLUTONS 3 a) Kashechewan Evacuation Process - Mayor Black 3. BYLAWS Whereas the James Bay community of Kashechewan faces frequent flooding and requires annual evacuation of its residents, and Whereas the evacuation is handled by Emergency Management Ontario (EMO) in conjunction with Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Corporation (AANDC) who determine the communities where the evacuees are located, and Whereas in the past Timmins has hosted many evacuees from the James Bay coastal communities in communal accommodations in arenas and community facilities and Whereas when hotel accommodation became the preferred accommodation, Timmins did not have the hotel room capacity to handle large amounts of the evacuees, and Whereas many new hotels have recently opened within the City of Timmins, and Whereas the residents and community leaders of Kashechewan have expressed their interest in being relocated to Timmins and locations much closer to their homes, now Therefore be it resolved that the City of Timmins hereby requests that in the future EMO and AANDC consider Timmins as a potential location for evacuees prior to considering relocating evacuees to communities farther away than Timmins. 4 AGENDA TEM #3.a) CTY OF TMMNS BY-LAW NO BENG A BY-LAW to amend the City of Timmins Zoning By- law No WHEREAS the Planning Act, R. S. O. 1990, c. P. 13, Section 34, as amended, authorizes Councils of Municipalities to pass by- laws to regulate the use of land and the character, location and use of buildings and structures; AND WHEREAS it is considered desirable to amend the City of Timmins Zoning By- law No ; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the City of Timmins enacts as follows: 1. That Schedule 12 of the City of Timmins Zoning By- law No , as amended, is hereby further amended as it pertains to those lands shown more particularly on Schedule 1 affixed hereto and forming part of this By- law, by placing the said lands into the Rural ( RD- RU) ( SP6-154) Zone. 2. That Section 6 entitled Special Provisions, as amended, is hereby amended by adding the following Special Provision SP which shall permit: Maximum lot coverage requirements from 5. 0% to 6. 75%. Four (4), square metres ( 3, square feet) self-service storage buildings, each measuring metres ( feet) by metres ( 100 feet) for a total commercial self-storage area of 1, ( 12, square feet). Distance between each self-storage building shall be metres ( feet) There shall be no outside storage associated with the four self-service storage buildings. A continuous buffer strip having a width of 3. 0 metres ( 9. 8 feet) be provided and maintained along the north property boundary with the adjoining property to the north. The attached site plan, being drawing JV- SP100, dated August 17, 2015, shall form part of the amending By- law. Concession 3, South Part of Lot 7, Registered Plan 6R- 3633, Part 4, Parcel 20786SEC, Mountjoy Township, City of Timmins The subject land has a frontage of metres ( feet) and a depth of metres ( feet) with an area of 2. 0 hectares ( 5. 0 acres). The purpose and effect of the Zoning By- law Amendment is to rezone the subject land from Rural ( RD- RU) to a site specific Rural ( RD- RU) ( SP6-154) Zone to allow for all permitted uses in the Rural ( RD- RU) Zone and four ( 4), square metre 3, square feet) self-service storage buildings, each measuring metres feet) by metres ( 100 feet) for a total commercial self-storage area of 1, ( 12, square feet) Amend Zoning By-Law re: 635 Government... WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the City of Timmins is empowered to enact this By- law by virtue of the provisions of Section 36 of the Planning Act, R. S. O. 1990, c. P. 13; AND WHEREAS notice of intention to remove the Holding ( H) Provision has been provided in accordance with the regulations of the Planning Act, R. S. O. 1990, c. P. 13; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the City of Timmins deems it appropriate to remove the Holding ( H) Provision; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the City of Timmins enacts as follows: 1.
