Sacco, Director Bruce Moeller, Executive Director Recommended Action: I RECOMMEND THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (BOARD) DECLARE AS SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZE THE SALE OF A NICE AUDIO RECORDER (RECORDER), ASSET NUMBER TO THE CITY OF TREASURE ISLAND (CITY) FOR A LUMP SUM OF $ PER SECTIONS AND OF THE FLORIDA STATE STATUTES AND BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SURPLUS DISPOSITION PROCEDURES. Summary Explanation/Background: A determination has been made that the usefulness of the identified equipment to County operations has been exhausted. The equipment has not reached the end of its useful economic life, however, it has been determined that the equipment is no longer needed due to County operational changes. The recorder was previously used at the City to record 911 calls answered by the Treasure Island Police Department, which were transferred from Pinellas County 911. The Treasure Island Police Department also used the recorder to record their internal agency telephone lines and police radio traffic. Transferred 911 calls are now managed by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office; therefore, the recorder is no longer necessary as a component of Pinellas County 911. The Treasure Island Police Department requests to purchase this equipment for the fair market value of $ The recorder will continue to be used by the agency to record their internal agency telephone lines and their police radio traffic. The fair market value represents an average of two suggested prices for like used equipment. The City is agreeable to purchase the recorder for the established value.
