3 INVITATION Dear Colleagues, The Organising Committee of HIV Congress 2010 welcomes one and all for this grand event. The theme of the Congress is to share the advanced knowledge in the field of HIV Medicine. The congress is jointly sponsored by Mayo Clinic, USA; AIDS Society of India (ASI); Association of Physicians of India (API-Mumbai Branch); Infectious Diseases Society of India; Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre and German AIDS Society. There is going to be a galaxy of speakers sharing their knowledge and experiences. There will be scientific sessions on ART, managing ART resistance, perinatal HIV intervention, newer therapies, opportunistic infections and other special issues. To encourage the ongoing research in HIV, we plan to have a session for research paper presentation with best paper award. The scientific sessions by guest speakers would be intermingled with interesting case presentations / case study / observational study. The pre-conference workshop on Perinatal HIV intervention and Pediatric AIDS will be held on 7 th January 2010 at TNMC Auditorium, BYL Nair Ch. Hospital, Mumbai Central, Mumbai. 9 Instructions for Abstract Submission Please follow these instructions carefully. 1. The abstract must be in English with not more than 250 words. 2. Title should be short and concise. 3. The name of authors should follow immediately under the title in one line. Type initials and family name of the authors in CAPITAL LETTERS and underline the name of the presenter. DO NOT include degrees or professional designations. The name of institution, city and country should be in lower case, following immediately after the authors, on a different line. 4. Leave one line between the title / authors / institution block and the body of the abstract. 5. Abstracts should be structured under following headings : Objectives Methods Results Conclusions It is not satisfactory to state: The results will be discussed. 6. The use of standard abbreviations is desirable. Place special or unusual abbreviation in brackets after the full word the first time it appears. 7.
