5 Page 4 # there were several William Cockshotts born in Yorkshire , and none in Keighley, so there is no way of finding which is the right one * there were several William Cockshott s born in Yorkshire about 1808, but only one in Keighley, so we have to hope these are the right parents; we are now in the realm of conjecture however: Yorkshire was full of Cockshotts! When the 1841 census becomes available online, if William I is still alive then, we might find out more. Had William II got married after 1837, when national registration started, his marriage certificate would have shown his father s name, but his (church) marriage in 1829 (below) unfortunately just gives his wife s name there were too many Sugdens born in that period to find the correct one
