5 LIMASSOL The southernmost tip of the island is home to its second largest city, Limassol. It is at the midpoint of the island s two international airports and an hour s drive from Nicosia, the capital. The port of Limassol is one of the busiest ports in the Mediterranean transit trade and the city also features two large private yacht marinas. Limassol was built between two ancient cities, Amathus and Kourion, and during Byzantine rule it was known as Neapolis (new town). Its historic centre is located around the medieval Limassol Castle and the Old Port. Today the city spreads along the Mediterranean coastline over a length of 30km. The building is designed to be earthquake resistant. Concrete strength for the main frame and important structural elements is set at C30/37 to eliminate any quality or forte errors. WALL BUILD AND INSULATIONS External walls are constructed with high quality insulation blocks of 30cm thickness and internal walls with a thickness of either 10 or 5cm variant on use. 5cm XPS insulation material is installed in all beams, columns. A special membrane is installed in between concrete/brick connections and walls for the avoidance of cracks. EXTERNAL FINISHES Externally the villas are cladded with Compact High Pressure Laminate (HPL) with wood-like finish and Cyprus light coloured stone. Other surfaces are plastered and painted with three coats of acrylic base paint (Sandtex). INTERIORS Large kitchens are custom-made with stylish finishes in textured melamine (Cleaf) and premium synthetic granite worktops; 5cm height cabinets.
