1 Spring Semester Room Change/Swap Request Form Form Use : This form can be used to request a room change during the room change period (January 23 - February 15). Students have the option of requesting to change rooms, or requesting to swap rooms with another student. Room Change: If you would like to change rooms in the same residential community or move to a room in different residential community, please select the room change option. Your request will be reviewed by Housing & Residence Life staff. Please note: Room change requests are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. A new assignment will be provided based on availability of the requested space. If we are unable to accommodate your room change request, you will be placed on a waitlist until the room change period closes or a space becomes available. Room Swaps: If you would like to swap rooms with another student, please select the room swap option. Both students involved in the process must agree to swap rooms before a room change can be processed. Please note: Housing & Residence Life is unable to accommodate group room changes or swaps. This is an individual process only. Room Rates and Meal Plans: Please be aware that Housing & Residence Life has varying room rates. Changing rooms may increase or decrease your room rate. Please review your student account after completing the room change for more information. Monarch Dining Services also has varying meal plan options, which may be impacted by the room change. The minimum meal plan required for each residential community is noted in the form. For more information, please contact Monarch Dining Services at dining@odu.edu or Parking and Mailing Address: Students who are approved to move to a different residential community will be required to obtain a residential community-specific parking permit. For more information, please contact Transportation & Parking Services at parking@odu.edu or Please let your friends and family know your new mailing address. Steps for Moving to a New Room: Should you be approved for a room change, further information detailing the steps to move to a new room will be sent to your student account. All students are responsible for moving personal belongings during this process. Please carefully follow the instructions to ensure a smooth room change/swap process. If you do not room change/swap during the timeframe allotted to you in the , your room change/swap requested will be cancelled and you will remain in your current assignment. I am aware if I currently have a meal plan, I must keep the meal plan for the remainder of the current semester, or submit a request to the ODU Card Center to have the meal plan pro-rated if I have moved to a residential community that does not require a meal plan. I am aware that if I currently do not have a meal plan, but I move to a residential community that requires a meal plan, the minimum meal plan for that community will be charged to my student account. I am aware if I change buildings, I am responsible for any financial differences in the room type during the agreement period. I am aware that if approved for a room change/swap, I am responsible for moving by personal belongings, following the check-out/check-in procedures described in approval s, updating my parking pass (if needed), and notifying my contacts of an updated address.
