1 Route 11: Maple Ridge Rd. 21 st St. NewMarket Square Route 11 would provide all-day bidirectional service between downtown Wichita and NewMarket Square, via the Taft Street Wal-Mart. Service between Wal- Mart and NewMarket Square would be shifted from Tyler Road to Ridge Road to avoid redundancy with the proposed alignment of Route 12. This also would provide the additional benefit of providing service to apartment complexes along Ridge Road which previously did not have access to transit. 2 Route 12: W. Douglas Central Tyler Rd. NewMarket Square Route 12 would provide all-day bidirectional service between downtown Wichita and NewMarket Square, via Central Avenue and Tyler Road. Service between NewMarket Square and Central Avenue is shifted from Maze Road to Tyler Road in order to capture the higher ridership potential in the corridor. This also provides the additional benefit of enabling the proposed Route 11 to shift to Ridge Road and provide service to previously unserved apartment complexes. Route 12 would operate along W. Douglas Avenue together with proposed Routes 14 and 15. Thus, staggering the schedules for the three routes provides the opportunity to create a high frequency corridor along Douglas Avenue between downtown Wichita and Meridian Avenue. 3 Route 13: N. Broadway NoMar Plaza 37 th St. Route 13 would provide all-day bi-directional service between downtown Wichita and 37 th Street, via Broadway Street. The proposed route would extend north along Broadway Street in order to serve areas previously covered by the North Waco Route. Likewise, in order to improve efficiency and avoid redundancy with the proposed alignment of Route 27, Route 13 would no longer operate along 21 st Street. Route 13 would operate along Broadway together with proposed Route 27 between downtown Wichita and 13 th Street. Thus, staggering the schedules of the two proposed routes provides the opportunity to create a high frequency transit corridor. This is particularly beneficial for travel to and from Via Christi Hospital which is an important destination within the corridor. 4 Route 14: W. Douglas Newman U. Meridian S. High School Pawnee Plaza Route 14 would provide all-day bi-directional service between downtown Wichita and Pawnee Plaza Mall, via Meridian Avenue. The proposed reconfiguration would maintain a significant portion of the existing route while transforming the loop configuration into a linear alignment serving downtown Wichita. Likewise, ridership would be increased by extending the route east to Pawnee Plaza Mall. Route 14 would incorporate portions of the current West Central Route, operating along W. Douglas Avenue. This would provide duplicative service with Routes 12 and 15. Thus, staggering the schedules would provide the opportunity to create a high frequency corridor along Douglas Avenue between downtown Wichita and Meridian Avenue. Douglas West St. 13 th St. Twin Lakes Evergreen Library Route 15 would provide all-day bi-directional service between downtown Wichita and 25 th Street, via Amidon Street and West Street. The proposed route would incorporate portions of the current Meridian Loop and West Central Routes in order to maintain service to several apartment complexes. Likewise, indirect and low ridership portions of the current route along River Boulevard would be eliminated in favor of more direct service along West Street. Route 15 would operate along Douglas Avenue together with Routes 14 and 12. Therefore, staggering the schedule would enable the creation of a high frequency corridor along Douglas Avenue between the Wichita Transit Center and Meridian Avenue. 6 Route 16: S. Broadway Lincoln Seneca 47 th St. Route 16 would provide all-day bi-directional service between downtown Wichita and 47 th Street, via Seneca Street. The proposed route would extend along 47 th Street in order to serve areas on 47 th street which had no prior access to transit. Additionally, deviations from Seneca Street in the current alignment would be eliminated in the proposed route, thus increasing the directness of the route. Route 16 would operate along S. Broadway together with Routes 26, 22, and 23. Thus, staggering the schedules for each route would provide the opportunity to create a high frequency transit corridor along Broadway. Waco Twin Lakes Route 17 would provide all-day bi-directional service between downtown Wichita and 29 th Street, via Nims St/ Bitting St and Waco Ave. The proposed route would deviate west to Amidon Street in order to serve areas previously covered by the Riverside Route, including several apartment complexes. Additionally, unproductive service north of 29 th Street would be eliminated in order to increase the efficiency of the route. The proposed route would operate primarily along Douglas Avenue, Hillside Street, and 21 st Street. This simplified alignment would incorporate portions of current College Hill and Rock Road Routes, maintaining service to Wichita State University. Additionally, the proposed route 21 would extend east in order to provide service to Target on Greenwich Road. Route 21 would operate along E. Douglas Avenue together with proposed Route 24. Thus, staggering the schedules provides the opportunity to create a high frequency corridor between downtown Wichita and Hillside Street with service available approximately every 15 minutes. 9 Route 22: S. Broadway Harry St. Webb Rd. E. Kellogg Route 22 would provide all-day bidirectional service between downtown Wichita and Greenwich Road, via Harry Street. The proposed route would operate along Broadway together with Routes 26, 23, and 16 in order to create a high frequency transit corridor between downtown Wichita and Harry Street. Likewise, Route 22 would operate along Harry Street together with Route 24 between Hydraulic Street and Edgemoor Street, thus creating another higher frequency corridor. Broadway Pawnee Plaza Oliver Spirit - WATC Route 23 would provide all-day bi-directional service between downtown Wichita and 47th Street, via Pawnee Street, E Ross Parkway and Oliver Street. The proposed route extends south along Broadway Street in order to serve the Pawnee Plaza Mall. Likewise, the route would be shifted south from Mount Vernon Street to Pawnee Street in order to capture the higher ridership market. In addition, the terminal loop in the current alignment is eliminated and the route extends south along Oliver Street in order to serve WATC and Youthville, served by the current South Main Route. Route 23 would operate along S. Broadway together with Routes 26, 22, and 16. Thus, staggering the schedules would allow the creation of a high frequency transit corridor along Broadway between the Wichita Transit Center and Pawnee Plaza Mall. Additionally, shifting Route 18 from Mount Vernon Street to Pawnee Street allows the creation of another high frequency corridor, as Route 23 would run together with Route 24 and 26. 11 Route 24: E. Douglas VA Harry St. Pawnee Plaza Route 24 would provide all-day bi-directional service between downtown Wichita and Pawnee Plaza Mall. The proposed route would deviate south along Edgemoor Street before returning west to Pawnee Plaza Mall, primarily along Harry Street. The proposed alignment for Route 24 maintains a significant portion of the current route while incorporating portions of the current East Harry Route. Route 24 would operate along Harry Street together with proposed Route 22. Therefore, staggering the schedules enables the creation of a high frequency corridor. This is particularly valuable for passengers traveling to and from Via Christi St Joseph Hospital which is a major destination within the corridor. Likewise, Route 24 would operate along E. Douglas Avenue together with Route 21, thus providing the opportunity for another high frequency corridor between downtown Wichita and Hillside Street. In addition to the above two corridors, Route 24 would operate along Pawnee Street together with Routes 26 and 23, thus creating another transit corridor between Pawnee Plaza Mall and Hydraulic Street. The proposed route would retain much of its former identity with the sole major change being the diversion south along Rock to Towne East Mall. Additionally, the deviation to Wesley Medical Center made by the current route would be eliminated in order to increase the directness of the route. Route 25 would operate along N. Broadway together with Routes 13 and 27. Thus, staggering of the schedules would provide the opportunity to create a high frequency transit corridor between downtown Wichita and Central Avenue. 13 Route 26: S. Broadway Pawnee Plaza Hydraulic 47 th St. Route 26 would provide all-day bi-directional service between downtown Wichita and 47 th Street, via Broadway Street and S. Hydraulic Street. The proposed route would retain a significant portion of the current route, maintaining service to Envision Xpress Inc. and Pawnee Plaza Mall. Likewise, the terminal loop portion of the route south of 47 th Street would be eliminated in order to increase directness and efficiency. Route 26 would operate along S. Broadway together with Routes 22, 23, and 16. Thus, staggering the schedules provides the opportunity to create a high frequency transit corridor between downtown Wichita and Pawnee Plaza Mall. Likewise, Route 26 would operate along Pawnee Street together with Routes 24 and 23, thus providing another high frequency corridor between Pawnee Plaza Mall and Hydraulic Street. The extension of service to Oaklawn, illustrated by the dashed line, would provide 8 trips a day Monday- Friday: 2 early morning, 2 midmorning, 2 mid-afternoon, and 2 evening. Thus, staggering the schedules provides the opportunity to create a high frequency corridor. An additional business loop, designated by the blue dashed line, would provide limited service to the industrial park near 37 th and Hydraulic. Trips to the industrial park will be early morning and mid-afternoon in-line with shift schedules. The proposed route would extend east along Waterman Street and service between Waterman Street and Lincoln Street would be shifted from Washington Avenue to Hydraulic Street in order to serve markets with higher ridership. Likewise, the loop at the east terminus of the route would be extended north to include areas currently served by the Rock Road Route. Harry Route as well as areas that had no prior access to transit. An additional business loop, demonstrated by the dashed line, would provide5 trips a day to businesses, hospitals, and trade schools between Rock Road and Webb Road. This would provide a direct crosstown option for passengers traveling to destinations east of downtown Wichita.
