18 French loan Title National Spatial Data Infrastructure and Remote-Sensing Centre for the Republic of Serbia based on IGIS (Infoterra Geo-Information Solution) Funding French government loan Timing Total value EUR 16.2 million Objective RGA aims at implementing an economically sustainable NSDI. This is seen as a structuring project consisting of wide range or geospatial data, technologies, standards, legislation and professional training related to these components. The objective is to build up a capability in conformance with the EU SDI specified standards. The aim of this Remote Sensing Centre and NSDI is to produce, organise and distribute mapping data for citizens, as well as the public and private sectors.

23 Access to funds Obstacles in funds finding The need for external funding arises when no other approach Getting funding for project can take a lot of effort especially if you are not familiar with what is available Sustainable continuity External sources usually means financing for a limited period of time and according to the rules of an external organisation If the issue of long term financial viability has not been taken into consideration, many projects may collapse once the external finances are no longer available

24 Access to funds Approach The EU Integration Office is in charge for coordination of programming of international development assistance Provision of an internal capacity for finding the right donor instrument (concept of the EU programming) Projects shall meet the strategic objectives of organisation
