INFORM. ENTERTAIN. We love our OMA members and friends! As you read this annual report, please know that we appreciate the many wonderful supporters who help us succeed in our mission to assist Oklahoma museums with their efforts to educate, inform and entertain. Below you find just a few examples of how OMA and our partnerships work for Oklahoma museums! FY2018 was another productive and great year serving Oklahoma s 500+ museums. During the year, our board and staff held a retreat to update our strategic plan. The retreat was on fertile ground where we could think creatively yet reasonably about the future of the organization. After several months of discussion and tweaking, the ambitious OMA strategic plan was adopted on June 4, You can view the plan here. I hope you will notice that we continue to place our Oklahoma museums and Oklahoma museum professionals at the very center of everything we plan and do. We know that our success is due to the many relationships and partnerships we have developed over the years. We continue to nurture our long-standing and important relationships with over 100 organizations and agencies in our state and around the nation. Collaboration is key to us and to our Oklahoma museums. One project which we devoted the entire year to was developing and implementing the Oklahoma Rural, Small and/or Isolated s Community of Practice. We appreciate the Carolyn Watson Oklahoma Rural Community Foundation for their support of this important pilot program, which continues into FY19. Another new and successful program launched in FY18 was the OMA Nomads Travel Program. The mission of the program is to connect OMA members, colleagues and friends to the world and to each other. The program vision is that the OMA Nomads Travel Program affirms traveling to places abundant with culture, history and art builds upon the spirit of the Oklahoma s Association mission, education, networks and connections. OMA believes the Nomads Travel Program will be an exceptional learning experience which will broaden intellectual horizons in fun and culturally-rich venues. The first adventure was a trip to Greece and Turkey. It was an amazing life experience, and we look forward to our next trip in March 2020 to Ireland. We remain a transparent organization and are happy to continue our involvement in GiveSmartOKC, a service of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and GuideStar.org. Want to know more about OMA s financials, governance and policies? Take a look at our GiveSmartOKC profile here. Thank you for being a part of the Oklahoma s Association. Your support and involvement mean the world to us.
