1 Registering an Out of Province ehicle in Alrta A motor vehicle from outside of Alrta must pass an Alrta Out of Province ehicle Inspection fore licence plates can issued. The Government of Alrta may issue an ion from an inspection if the vehicles history does not indicate flood, unsafe, salvage, or non-repairable and meets any of the following: New vehicle from another province or territory Within 90 days from the date of purchase, present the vehicle and the following documents to any Alrta Registry agent: Proof of an Alrta address, Proof of Alrta Insurance, A Bill of Sale or lease agreement from a factory authorized dealer in the name of the person requesting the ion. New vehicle from outside of Canada Within 90 days from the date of purchase, present the vehicle and the following documents to any Alrta Registry agent: Proof of an Alrta address, Proof of Alrta Insurance, Bill of Sale or lease agreement from a factory authorized dealer in the name of the person requesting the ion, Transport Canada s Form 1 stamped twice (Form 1 s are stamped once at the border and once after passing the compliance inspection), Certificate of Origin or State issued Title. Commercially registered vehicle from any province or territory The Government of Alrta may issue an ion for government commercial vehicle inspections issued in another Canadian jurisdiction for 90 days from the date of inspection (applies only to vehicles applying for commercial licence plates). Within 90 days from the date of inspection, present the vehicle and the following documents to any Alrta Registry agent: Proof of an Alrta address, Proof of Alrta Insurance, Proof of ownership, alid Commercial ehicle Inspection Certificate issued in the past 90 days. As a result, inspection requirements have en relaxed for residents moving tween New West Partnership jurisdictions. A vehicle may from an Out of Province ehicle Inspection in the following two situations: TE: The following types of vehicle cannot : salvage, non-repairable, unsafe, rebuilt, right hand drive, custom / homebuilt, kit cars, and lifted or lowered. 1) BC, SK, or MB Motor ehicles Newer Than 4 Years 4 Years means current model year plus the previous 3 model years (e.g = 4 model years, in this example a 2013 model year vehicle would not qualify for an ion) Present the vehicle and the following documents to any Alrta Registry agent: Proof of an Alrta address, Proof of Alrta Insurance, Proof of BC, SK, or MB registration in the name of the person requesting the ion. 2) BC, SK, or MB Motor ehicles Inspected in the Past 90 Days Within 90 days from the date of inspection, present the vehicle and the following documents to any Alrta Registry agent: Proof of an Alrta address, Proof of Alrta Insurance, Proof of BC, SK, or MB registration in the name of the person requesting the ion, BC, SK, or MB government inspection certificate issued in the past 90 days.
