None of his children s marriages are recorded in Marlborough Massachusetts Vital Records 140: Massachusetts Vital Records 149: West Boylson VR, 86; Vital Records of Littleton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, to the End of the Year 1849 (Littleton, Mass., 1900), 505, hereafter cited as Littleton VR. This is in the genealogical notes section of this book, not in the transcribed records. The marriage intention of 3 May 1833 is at page 284, where she is called Miss Persis Hapgood of West Boylston. ) 234 Littleton VR, West Boylston VR, Marlborough VR, Frances Pratt Tapley, Vital Records of Sterling, Massachusetts (Sterling, Mass., 1976), 120, hereafter cited as Sterling VR. 244 Marlborough VR., West Boylston VR, , which says that he, i.e. John Cutting, died on this date. However, on the same page Hapgood says that John Cutting married his sister-in-law, Ruth Hapgood, on 1 Jan 1873, and that Charlotte was deceased by this date. Therefore, the 1871 date is probably the death of Charlotte Cutting, not John. 254 Stow VR, Sterling VR, 23. In Hapgood, The Hapgood 5, her middle name is given as Elizabeth. 257 West Boylston VR, Sterling VR, 23 10
