Unit V- Types of risk to museums. Physical planning in terms of security - construction of buildings and showcases. Management of security personnel, Internal procedures. Protection from fire. Electronic systems. Identification of conservation problem: nature, type and extent of deterioration, and preparing a case study report. Unit IV- Exhibition furniture and accessories - types of showcases, pedestals, display boards etc. Factors governing design of showcases, dioramas, period rooms etc. Unit V- Exhibition text - purpose, format and language. Use of audio-visuals and graphics. Exhibition evaluation. Practical: Defining goals of the exhibitions, developing the theme, lay outing the exhibition. Writing exhibition text. Educational programs types of programs for different target groups with focus on special problems in organizing activities outside the museum. Collaboration with groups and organizations outside the museum. Unit V- Museum publications - meaning and purposes. Types of museum publications. Role of library in a museum. Practical: Preparing activity-sheets for children. Interpreting exhibits to different type of visitors.
