6 RESEARCH EXPERIENCE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON, 2013-PRESENT Doctoral Dissertation Field Research, Han River Watershed, Korea, 2014 Qualified by the University of Washington Human Subjects Division (HSD) in advance of field research. Conducted six-week intensive field research in order to collect literature, statistical data, and interviews. Measured and surveyed four different villages in Han River watershed. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Project, Seattle, WA, Funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in order to strengthen the Region 10 Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning process. Analyzed participants questionnaires of three workshops held in Redmond, Everett, and Neah Bay, WA. Investigated new solutions of urban planning and design enhancing community resilience under a post-earthquake scenario. International Studio Field Research, Chengdu Plain, China, 2013 Conducted and supervised social analysis with questionnaires and open-ended questions as well as spatial analysis through portable GPS units and GPS cameras. Analyzed collected data by using statistical software packages and GIS. SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY, Research Associate, Architecture & Urban Research Information Center (AURIC) Funded by the Korean National Research Foundation. Built a web-based database of more than 5,000 Korea s architectural buildings and urban places for the National Architectural Archive. Managed numerous pieces of architectural and urban information, and presented them using web technologies. Currently being serviced by and SALLIM PUBLISHING CO., Freelance Contributor, Creative Magazine 1/N (Quarterly) Conducted an independent research to explore architecture and urban space in Seoul in terms of people s desires. The results of this research was contributed a series of articles for one year under the title Deisre City, Seoul in the Creative Magazine 1/N. Gathered web-based data and generated multi-layered digital images from two-dimensional mapping to three dimensional visualization using parametric design tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper.
