Based on its valuable collections of European art and especially impressionists paintings and old masters enhanced by an exceptional curatorial work the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts earned an international reputation recognized by both visitors and professionals of the museum sector. The institution counts among the most famous Fine Arts Museum in the world, and as a must see for any visitor of the Russian capital. The Development of the new Museum Complex The State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts is planning a major expansion and the creation of the Museum Town in the territory of the actual Museum. The plan for this major project consists of three stages involving new buildings, reconstruction and the restoration and adaptation of various existing buildings within the Museum Town complex. The implementation of this Plan will increase the total area of the Museum complex to 125,000 sq.m. It will be possible to increase the number of items on display several times over and to extend significantly the number of exhibitions organized. It will make it possible to admit 3 million visitors per year and to widen considerably the range of additional services provided by the Museum.
4 MUSEUM OF RUSSIAN IMPRESSIONISM The Museum is essentially a two-storey 20m diameter circular pavilion. It takes its form from the geometry and location of an existing circular storage building within the original Bolshevik Factory. Although the Museum is a new building however, it will form the cultural and architectural focus of the interior landscaped heart of the master plan. The relationship of the building to the surrounding landscape is a fundamental part of its design. It is a key destination within the master plan and the visitor s journey to it through the gardens has been conceived as part of the gallery experience. moscow, russia 2012 / 2013 Architect: John McAslan + Partners Size: 5,000 sq.m Opening date: 2015 Website: N/A Concept Strategic planning Facility planning Exhibition planning Curatorial research Collections strategy Cultural programming Operational plan Financial plan Governance model Moscow and Russia pay a unique tribute to Russian Impressionism Thanks to the wonderful idea of the private collector Boris Mints, Moscow will become the home to a world-class new cultural facility dedicated to Russian Impressionism. This new cultural facility, the Museum of Russian Impressionism, is expected to open in September 2014 on the site of the former Bolshevik Factory. It is likely to welcome about 70,000 to 90,000 visitors per year. The Museum will be devoted entirely to the interpretation and celebration of the unique Russian Impressionist style of modern art. The Museum of Russian Impressionism is to be the first museum in Russia dedicated to the history of the Russian Impressionists from its inception in the late 19 th century. The Museum is to promote a greater level of understanding and appreciation of Russian Impressionism. An heritage site enhanced by the architecture by John McAslan + Partners The Museum is to be located within the precincts of the Bolshevik Factory Masterplan on Leninigradskiy Prospect close to Belaruskiy Railway Station. The Bolshevik Factory has a unique history and is a significant landmark in the City. It was founded in 1855 by Adolf Sioux, a French industrialist and entrepreneur, and was the first building in Moscow with electric light. Its refurbishment will return one the City s most interesting historic buildings into active re-use as a world class art centre.
5 musee du luxembourg paris, france 2010 Architect: N/A Size: N/A Opening date: 1750 Website: Audit of the museum s activities Negociations of new delegation agreement The first French museum opened to the public in 1750 Initially housed in the Palais du Luxembourg the Musée du Luxembourg was the first French museum to be opened to the public, in At that time, visitors could admire twenty-four paintings by Rubens celebrating Maria de Medici and around a hundred paintings from the Royal collection (Cabinet du Roi) by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Veronese, Titian, Poussin, Van Dyck and Rembrandt. After these works were transferred to the Louvre, the Musée du Luxembourg was designated in 1818 a museum for living artists, or in other words, a museum of contemporary art. The Musée du Luxembourg was closed after a national museum of modern art was built in the Palais de Tokyo in 1937, and only reopened its doors to the public in In 2000, the Senate decided to take full responsibility once more for the Musée du Luxembourg, in order to introduce an integrated cultural policy for the Palace, Gardens and Museum. The Musée du Luxembourg has since become one of the leading exhibition spaces in Paris, enabling its numerous visitors to enjoy the masterpieces of Botticelli, Raphaël, Titian, Arcimboldo, Veronese, Gauguin, Matisse, Vlaminck and Modigliani. A museum for all The Senate and the Réunion des Musées Nationaux/Grand Palais are committed to developing an ambitious cultural policy for the benefit of the general public. Carefully put together, the popular programme of the Musée du Luxembourg appeals to every type of audience, not only regular museum visitors but also children and young people, schools, families and those who are not normally interested in cultural activities. Various formats for educational visits and workshops are proposed with something to suit everyone, and at rates that are in keeping with the public service objective of the museum.

The massive renovations happened from 1999 to 2004, under supervision of two architects Gabor Mester de Parajd and Antoine Stinco, whose goal was to harmonize all the existing facilities and building as well as create entirely new spaces. The permanent collections of the Angers Museum of Fine Arts are separated into two tours. The Museum of Fine Arts collections provide a panorama of the artistic European movements that happened from the 12 th to the 20 th century. With the second largest art collection in France, the museum possesses the work of brilliant artist such as Raphael, Donatello, Rembrandt, Goya, El Greco, Toulouse Lautrec, Rodin and Delacroix. The Lille Museum of Fine Arts is a must see place when visiting the city.
