Academic/professional Curriculum I was born in Erice (Trapani Italy) on August 11 th, 1980, and graduated from the scientific high school in July I got my master s degree in Civil Engineering, structural section, on April 21 th, 2005, Summa cum Laude. Qualification to be an engineer by profession in September 2005 and registered at n in the Register of Engineers for the Province of Trapani since January 12 th, Ph.D. scholar in Engineering of Structures at the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering of the University of Palermo, from January 1 st 2006 to December 31 st While a Ph.D. candidate, I spent 11 months as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania USA), from November 4 th 2007 to October 9 th Ph.D. in Engineering of Structures, after defense of the thesis titled Mesoscopic modeling of quasi-brittle materials.
