From: Jaime F [mailto FIPPA s. 22 Sent: April :24 AM Subject: NOT IN FAVOUR OF ONNI REZONING APPLICATION Date: February 7th, 2017 Attn: James Stiver General Manager of Development Services Development Services Department Port Moody, BC Dear Mr. James Stiver, Re: Rezoning Application by Onni Development I am writing this letter as an objection to the rezoning application in Suterbrook Village, Port Moody, B.C. Please see below for our concerns with the following rezoning project application: In the last five years we have resided in Suterbrook Village at our current address. Myself and my wife have already felt the impact of the increasing congestion in our previously peaceful, quaint village. My wife, myself, and my growing family are certain that adding an additional 100,000 sq ft to this existing situation will increase the traffic risks for pedestrians and add to the congestion of vehicles entering and exiting the village daily. The recently proposed development will result in additional noise from cars, people, and commuters alike. Adding such a large development will inevitably add to the increasing amount of vehicles and pollution in our community. Currently, the village has a small community vibe and promotes familiarity among neighbors. Adding too many more people to the village will result in the loss of that sense of community. Up until now the Suterbrook village project has been a success and lent itself to be a very desirable place to live. It is unfortunate that such a large, already wealthy company is seeking to steal that character of the village with the goal of maximizing profits and taking taking away from the current and future residents. Overall, the noise, increased traffic, risks of pedestrian safety, loss of privacy, and loss of community make this project very unsuitable and undesirable to our community. My family and I feel strongly that the above proposal should be rejected. Onni Development has unfortunately chose to ignore the fact that an increase of extending the permitted gross floor area of Multi Family Residential Use and Accessory Home Occupation use by 100,000 sq. ft. will impact all existing residents, our community and our neighborhood. Overall quite frankly there just is not enough space for them to cram an additional 290 residential units into our village! Thank you for taking the time to review my concerns. Yours sincerely, Jaime Ferreira FIP Capilano Road
From: Nataliya Richard [mailto FIPPA s. 22 Sent: April :50 AM Subject: OBJECTION: Onni Development Permission for Suter Brook Hi there, I live in FIP Capilano Road, Port Moody building in Suter Brook and I am AGAINST Onni building an extra tower and lowrise here. Rationale: It's become very dense in Suter Brook, always overcrowded and a lot of cars looking for parking. The traffic has gone worse in the recent years not just around Suter Brook and Ioco Rd but St Johns as well as more buildings are being built, more people move here but the infrastructure, roads haven't been changed to support an additional volume of people. Adding additional 290 residential units will literally kill Port Moody. Port Moody has been seen as an oasis and in recent 2 years it's become as dense as downtown Vancouver and more polluted. To preserve Port Moody heritage - nature and clean air - we should't be allowing to build more residential units especially highrises. I do object to giving the permission to build residential units here in Suter Brook. If anything there should be a small park in that area or even adding more shops, cafes or restaurants for the residents will be better for Port Moody as it will bring more revenue for the city. Thanks
From: James West [mailto FIPPA s. 22 Sent: April :18 PM Subject: Opposing Onni Development Hey guys this is addressed to whom it may concern regarding the Onni development permit to add in addition to the tower they will be building another 290 units. I strongly believe my property as well as the surrounding properties will be highly effected by this extreme addition creating a mass density. As of right now street parking has become rare to find and speeding cars are more and more frequent. Of course with any area as beautiful as this growth is expected. I strongly believe that by adding another tower this will not just be growth this will be mass density. There just is absolutely not enough room to add that many additional units. I have not been someone who has opposed the sky train or the additional tower I think both of those are fantastic and were only a matter of time. HOWEVER the reach for another 290 units is based on greed and a huge neglect for our habitat and what makes this Port Moody. Thank you for your time, Steve R.
From: Capitol Hill Athletics [mailto FIPPA s. 22 Sent: April :31 PM Subject: ONNI Development # Hey I am ing about the development that Onni is trying to do in Suter Brook Village. I really don't feel there is enough space for all of these extra homes. I moved to Port Moody from the Brentwood area because of the congestion. The area is so beautiful and serene I mean adding one tower I understand but they need to really add even more that that? There is so much housing crammed in here already. Right now kids can still ride their bikes fairly safety on the streets. The place has a real sense of community. Its going to lose its living appeal for small families! Thank you Pete
From: bianca andreone [mailto FIPPA s. 22 ] Sent: April :29 AM Subject: Land use amendment Application - Dispute To whom it may concern, I am writing this letter on behalf of myself and my family. We believe that our property at Capilano road will be negatively affected if the maximum permitted floor occupancy in Suterbrook village is approved. The quiet and safe streets which I walk along every day will be negatively impacted by congestion and safety concerns. Not to mention the already limited amount of street and village parking available that we struggle with daily. Please consider this my notice to dispute the Onni application. Thank you in advance, -- Availability: Office hours for the month of April 2017 M-Thursday 9am-5pm. FIP Bianca Andreone, M. Ed., BCBA Applied Behaviour Analysis t: FIPPA s. 22 e: FIPPA s. 22
