2 2018 FRSA Convention FRSA s Annual Convention and Expo is the educational and networking event for the roofing and sheet metal industries. As we continue to face an ever-changing work environment, FRSA brings you the most informative and up-to-date continuing education seminars on topics that affect your business. 8 Educational Programs FRSA s Educational and Research Foundation, CILB Provider # , Florida Board of Architecture # (select courses), and the BCAIB Provider # (select courses), is offering a total of 25 hours of continuing education credit during the 2018 Convention. All courses are designed specifically for contractors. Our goal is to provide you with the educational tools you need to make your business successful. Construction Contractors Licensed construction contractors are required to earn 14 hours of continuing education credit per renewal cycle (two years). Within the 14 hours, they must meet six specific training requirements: (ADV) Course meets Advanced Florida Building Code requirements; (BSP) Course meets Business Practice requirements; (L&R) Course meets Laws and Rules requirements; (WPS) Course meets Workplace Safety requirements; (WC) Course meets Workers Compensation requirements; (WMM) Course meets Wind Mitigation Methods requirements. All additional hours are recorded as (G) Course meets General requirements. Excess hours cannot be carried to the next renewal cycle. Continuing Education Package If you only want to attend the education programs, you may purchase a Continuing Education Package which provides you with 7 hours of seminars. The Education Package also allows you entrance into the Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Expo.

3 Seminar #2 / 11:00 am 12:00 pm OSHA Updates for the Construction Industry Anthony Tilton For individuals NOT requiring Continuing Education credit, all seminars* may be audited on a complimentary basis. Seating may be limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis after those requiring C.E. credit have been accommodated. *Excludes NRCA For Foreman Only Program. Wednesday, june 27 NRCA For Foremen Only Level 1 / 8:00 am 5:00 pm / Tom Shanahan For Foremen Only is a program focusing on communication, leadership and management skills for field managers. The roofing industry is filled with foremen and superintendents who are incredibly adept at expertly installing roof systems and who were promoted because of that expertise. Unfortunately, these individuals often do not possess equal levels of leadership, communication and management skills needed to effectively run their crews. This program introduces the concept that managing, leading and communicating are tools needed to be a truly successful middle manager. It also uses interactive exercises to practice using these new tools to become effective crew leaders. This program is not included in the Full Registration C.E. package or the 7-Hour C.E. Package and does not carry C.E. credits. Program is limited to 30 participants on a first-come, firstserved basis. Seminar #1 / 10:00 am 12:00 pm (2017) / Mike Silvers, CPRC (WPS) Attendees will be provided with an overview of the most recent changes to OSHA s rules and regulations.
