3 Findlay and Hancock County enjoy a strong, diverse business environment one that continuously attracts new steadfast ventures. The region s agricultural roots remain strong, with around 300,000 acres of farmland producing products such as corn, soybeans and wheat. Findlay and Hancock County is known as a regional employment and retail hub for more than 300,000 people, and has been routinely recognized as a top place not only to live, but also to establish a thriving business.

4 One of Findlay and Hancock County s greatest assets are the people that live and work here. The labor force, stemming from top education institutions from primary schooling through graduate studies, is truly excellent. Over 6,500 students are enrolled in the Findlay City School System s nine elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school, along with the Millstream Career and Technology Center. The larger Hancock County area provides 13 school systems, each housing grades K 12, as well as several local private institutions. Each do all they can to prepare children to be lifelong learners. In fact, Findlay and Hancock County has been recognized four times as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People, awarded by America s Promise Alliance.

5 The University of Findlay, located close to the hustle and bustle of the city s historic downtown, provides 60 academic majors, nine graduate programs and a Doctor of Pharmacy program. Other schools include the Findlayarea campus of Owens Community College, which offers students more than 100 degree and certificate programs, and Brown Mackie College, which offers special program schedules and seven career-focused areas of study. Also located here is the Winebrenner Theological Seminary, a fully-accredited institution that offers eight degrees and was founded in 1942 as a graduate school of the University of Findlay.

6 The award-winning Blanchard Valley Hospital is a great asset to the community, and encompasses intensive care and coronary care units, oncology, medical-surgery services, pediatrics, rehabilitation and obstetrics. The Hancock County area also boasts a state-of-the-art surgery center, and a number of medical services including ear, nose and throat, endoscopy, laser eye surgery, plastic surgery, orthopedics, urology and physical therapy, among others. The region offers many practices such as dentistry, orthodontics, optometry, chiropractic and podiatry as well.

7 Hancock County residents and visitors alike take pleasure in our area s wide variety of recreational activities. From hiking, biking and fishing, to cross-country skiing, hunting and picnicking, Findlay and Hancock County have it all. The Hancock Park District oversees more than 3,000 acres of parkland, nature preserves and additional recreational areas.
