27 12 KEREM PIKER Architect, The Holl - The Holl is a unique project due to its unprecedented location in Kaynarca, Istanbul's up-and-coming business center, and to its close proximity to transportation corridors and the Sea of Marmara. Each unit of the project was designed to have views of the sun, sea and landscape. It is a pioneer in its region with its modular floor plans and innovative and flexible concept. Every detail of The Holl was designed to reflect a unique concept. We believe The Holl will bring a breath of fresh air to the district. Born in Ankara in 1978, Kerem Piker graduated from Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Architecture in 2001 and received his master's degree from the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at Delft University of Technology in In 2010, he was recognized as one of Europe's most important and emerging young architects and designers by The Chicago Athenaeum as part of Europe 40 Under 40. Piker founded kpm in His projects have garnered many awards, including: Grand Prize in the Manisa Municipal Services Building Competition, Grand Prize in the Turkish Ministry of National Education's Midyat Education Campus Project Competition, a mention in Şişli High School's National Architecture Project Competition, a mention in Borusan Neşe Fabrikası National Architecture Project Competition, and a mention in Izmir Transportation Integration Center's Architecture Project Competition. In 2016, he received a Project Achievement Award at the 15th National Architecture Awards organized by Sakarya Akyazı Culture Center (ARKIV). Since 1998, Piker has participated in many studio architecture projects and national architecture project competitions as a jury member, and was a visiting lecturer at Istanbul Technical University, Yıldız Technical University, Gebze High Technology Institute, Bilgi University, and Istanbul Kültür University. Piker is also the curator of The Pavilion of Turkey Exhibition, which will represent our country in the 2018 Venice Biennale of Architecture.
