1 COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT APPLICATION FOR A MINOR VARIANCE PLEASE READ CAREFULLY Prior to filing this application, the applicant is encouraged to meet and consult with the Planning Services Department with respect to the variances requested. The applicant is also encouraged to communicate with neighbours with respect to this application. THE OWNER, APPLICANT OR AGENT MUST APPEAR IN PERSON AT THE COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING. FAILURE TO APPEAR IN PERSON AT THE COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING MAY RESULT IN THE DEFERRAL OR DENIAL OF THE APPLICATION. COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT APPLICATIONS REQUIRE: A SINGLE COPY OF THE ATTACHED APPLICATION FORM WITH ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION FILLED IN 14 COMPLETE SETS OF DRAWINGS, PLANS AND OTHER DOCUMENTATION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION. ALL DRAWINGS MUST BE SUBMITTED FULLY DIMENSIONED IN *METRIC UNITS OF MEASURE*LEGIBLE AND ON PAPER SIZES NO LARGER THAN 11 X 17, AND FOLDED TO AN 8-1/2 x 14 SIZE OR LESS. APPLICATIONS LACKING REQUIRED INFORMATION MAY, AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT, BE DEFERRED OR DENIED. Drawings, completed signed application and other documentation, must also be submitted digitally on a CD or USB stick in PDF format and each of the following as separate files on your CD: 1. Site Plan 2. Individual Floor Plans 3. Individual Elevation Plans 4. Application File names must be in the following format: drawing name_drawing number.pdf For example: site plan_a01.pdf, basement floor plan_a02.pdf, first floor plan_a03, north elevation_a07.pdf, south elevation_a08, application.pdf etc. APPLICATION FEES Effective January 1, 2018 Please make cheques payable to: Amount Town of Oakville $ 2, Region of Halton $ Halton Region Conservation Authority (if required) $ Credit Valley Conservation Authority (if required) $ ADDITIONAL FEES that may be required by the Town of Oakville (if applicable) Application fees for same variance for more than one proposed lot within a draft Plan of subdivision Standard fee for first application and additional $ for each additional proposed lot Rescheduling fee - deferral request by applicant $ per application Preparation of Agreement $ 1, Special Meeting (requested by applicant) application fee $ 8, DRAWINGS AND OTHER INFORMATION SUBMITTED MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: (see sample at back of application form) A site plan showing all dimensions of the land involved in the variance request, the location of all existing and proposed buildings and/or structures thereon in relation to the front, rear and side yard lot boundaries and the relation to all buildings and/or structures on adjoining properties. Proposed buildings and/or structures must be clearly identified. Fully dimensioned floor plans will be required for any variances to floor area and/or lot coverage. Front, rear and side elevation plans with all dimensions in metric units of measure

2 The approximate location of all natural and artificial features on the subject land and on adjacent land that, in the opinion of the Committee of Adjustment, may affect the application. Examples include buildings, railways, roads, watercourses, lake frontage, drainage ditches, culverts, rivers, streams, wetlands, wooded areas, wells and septic tanks. The current use(s) of the land and buildings and/or structures on the land adjacent to the subject land. The location, width and name of any roads, road allowances, rights of way and/or easements within or abutting the subject land including identification as to whether such are unopened, for public use, private or otherwise constrained. If access to the subject land is by water only, the location of the parking and docking facilities to be used. WHILE TOWN STAFF MAY PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO APPLICANTS, IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT TO ENSURE THAT THE APPLICATION IS ACCURATE AND THE VARIANCE REQUESTED IS SUFFICIENT TO ACHIEVE COMPLIANCE. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Drawings to be folded and stapled into 14 individual sets. Information in the application provided for owner, agent, mortgagee, etc. must be complete including addresses with postal codes, phone numbers, fax numbers. Names and addresses of any mortgagees must be included on the application. All names should be removed from drawings. Authorization Form to be signed by owner and attached to application form (when an agent is acting on behalf of the property owner and the Declaration is signed by the agent OR if agent is to attend the Committee of Adjustment meeting without the owner). Revisions to circulated notices may be accepted or rejected at the discretion of the Committee of Adjustment, at the time of the meeting. Applications should be filed as early as possible, as the number of applications for each scheduled meeting of the Committee of Adjustment is limited. Town of Oakville departmental comments with respect to an application are available online on the Friday before the meeting date. Further Committee of Adjustment information can be obtained at: SUBMISSION OF THIS APPLICATION - It is required that this application be filed with the Secretary-Treasurer of the Committee of Adjustment and be accompanied with the fee as outlined on the front of this application. An appointment with the Secretary-Treasurer to review the completed application and related documentation prior to submission is recommended. NOTE: Personal information on the following forms and any supporting documentation is collected under the authority of the Ontario Planning Act and will be used by the Building Services Department in the processing of the Committee of Adjustment application. The information may be used by other departments and agencies for the purpose of assessing the proposed variance(s). This information may also be released to the public.
