3 August 4, 2010 Page 3 Fitness Tips Here is a great dumbbell workout program you can do, all you need a pair of adjustable dumbbell. This is a perfect workout for when you are on vacation, away on business, or when you just want a break from your regular workout. Some of the exercises will be in the high rep range. but that is what makes it different and fun. Your entire body is trained over a three day period, and then the three workouts are repeated and you then take the seventh day off. Workout 1 is your push workout. First you will do push ups. For 10 minutes, perform as many sets of push ups as you can, doing as many reps each set as possible. Rest only seconds between sets. If you need to, place knees to the ground to get more reps out of the last set or two. Next do dumbbell press over head. Four sets with doing as many reps you can do for each set. Then do, tricep kickbacks, four sets for maximum reps. Overhead extensions can be substituted. Workout 2 is your pull workout. First you will do dumbbell rows. The same as you did with push ups, row for 10 minutes, perform as many sets as you can for at least 20 reps each set. Row with both dumbbells at the same time. You can also switch the angles a bit and try some underhand grip rows. Then switch to single arm rows. Use a chair for support. Do four sets switching from one arm to the other for reps each set. Next do bent over dumbbell laterals. Four sets of reps. Finish the workout by doing up with dumbbell curls. Four to six sets of regular curls dumbbell or dumbbell hammer curls. Workout 3 is your leg workout with some extra shoulder work. You will do a non-stop tri-set: dumbbell squats, dumbbell deadlifts and upright dumbbell rows. Yes it's true, shoulders are trained twice on this program. However, one day is with pressing, the other with pulling. It's a completely different type of approach. Perform 4 total tri-sets for a total of 12 sets. You can also add calves and abdominals to this workout if you want. This dumbbell workout program is designed to boost your metabolic rate and be an alternative workout when you need one.

Box , Corpus Christi, TX Farm Credit Bank of Texas Reports Strong Second Quarter Earnings AUSTIN, Texas Farm Credit Bank of Texas (FCBT) reported strong mid-year results, highlighted by second quarter net income of $45.8 million, a 67.8 percent increase from the second quarter of last year. Net income for the first six months was $81.0 million, an increase of 84.5 percent over the same period of Once again, the bank s careful monitoring of its earning assets and debt management strategies resulted in increased earnings for the quarter, said Larry Doyle, FCBT chief executive officer. One key factor was a 45-basispoint increase in the bank s net interest rate spread, which was achieved by calling high-cost debt and replacing it with lowercost debt. The Austin-based bank and its affiliated financing cooperatives make up the Texas Farm Credit District (district) the largest network of rural lenders serving Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. Together, these lenders reported combined net income of $162.8 million for the six months ended June 30, 2010, an increase of $67.0 million, or 69.9 percent, from the same period of The district s net income for the quarter ended June 30, 2010, was $74.8 million, an increase of 62.7 percent from the second quarter of This increase was primarily due to a $13.3 million increase in net interest income and a $17.9 million decrease in provision for loan losses, offset by a $1.4 million increase in noninterest expense, a $622 thousand decrease in the benefit from income taxes and a $294 thousand decrease in noninterest income. District gross loan volume at June 30, 2010, was $15.68 billion, reflecting a 3.0 percent decrease from Dec. 31, 2009, and a 4.9 percent decrease from June 30, Nonaccrual loans for the district accounted for 4.1 percent of total loans at June 30, 2010, compared to 3.2 percent at Dec. 31, 2009, and 3.1 percent at June 30, Credit quality decreased slightly to 93.3 percent of loans rated acceptable or other assets especially mentioned at June 30, The decrease in credit quality reflects deterioration in certain agricultural sectors, as well as those borrowers impacted by the overall downturn in the general economy. We continue to see several segments of the agricultural industry negatively impacted by the volatility in commodity prices.
