6 Fisheries Strategy Vision The ongoing Treaty Partnership between and the Crown is given effect through development of fisheries-related legislation, policies and arrangements that recognise and respect the rangatiratanga of iwi over their traditional fisheries. Key Strategies 1. Align competing political and commercial structures as much as possible 2. ly reassert the Deed of Settlement as the basis of the -Crown relationship in Fisheries 3. Develop fisheries leadership capable of balancing and iwi perspectives 4. Proactively develop National and Regional fisheries policy based on principles 6
