HISTORICAL/ASSOCIATIVE: Abraham Odlum received the Crown Patent for all 200 acres of land on Lot 17, Concession 9 ND, in Oldum, who settled in Tullamore circa 1829, was granted over 1000 acres of land in Toronto Gore. Under the terms of Odlum s last will and testament in 1854, Lot 17, Concession 8 ND was under the ownership of his estate. Although land records show Thomas Clarke acquired the east half of Lot 17 from Edward D. H. Oldum in 1858, Tremaine s map (1859) records John Odlum as the owner of the east half of Lot 17, without a building. Land records note John C. Kerr bought the east half of Lot 17, Concession 8 ND in The township assessment roll (1874) reports Thomas Wilkinson as a tenant on Lot 17, Concession 8 ND, which was owned by John C. Kerr. John Kerr was a non-resident owner. Lynch s Directory ( ) lists Robert and Thomas Wilkinson on Lot 17, Concession 8 ND. A tenant was not noted on the property in the 1870s and 1880s. The Illustrated Historical Atlas (1877) shows John Carr as the owner of the east half of Lot 17 with a farmhouse and orchard immediately west of the watercourse in the location of the present residence. Isaac Wilson bought the east half of Lot 17, Concession 8 ND from Kerr in Assessment rolls indicate Wilson was a non-resident living in Toronto. He leased the property to William Thomas Wilson of Tullamore from the 1880s to the mid 1890s. William T. Wilson was noted as a non-resident farmer of the property in the 1891 assessment roll. John Harrison leased the 100-acre property on the east half of Lot 17, Concession 8 ND in 1897 and Fred Clark of Tullamore in 1898 and The Census Return (1901) records Thomas and Sarah Ellis and family on the 100 acres of the east half of Lot 17, Concession 8 ND living in a 6-room frame house. A note with agricultural census states, The party has just moved on this property. William T. Wilson and others sold the east half of the lot to Reginald R. Shaw in Ten years later the Census Return (1911) reports that Reginald and Martha [?] Shaw lived on Lot 17, Concession 8 ND. Shaw sold the property to Richard H. Turner in Elsie Turner as the executor of Richard 3
