Board consideration of the subject minutes included: Indication that the maps of vacant heritage properties could be made available to Board Members upon request to one of the Heritage Coordinators Advisory that the Heritage Coordinators visit these properties on a regular basis to ensure they are properly secured, etc. Confirmation that bricks from the James Clark Farmhouse have been salvaged and are being protected and stored on City property HB That the of the Heritage Resources Sub-Committee Meeting of February 2, 2010, to the Meeting of February 23, 2010, be received. 9 C1-9 Mr. Michael Avis, Chair, Outreach and Marketing Sub-Committee, provided a verbal advisory on the subject event, which included: Thanks to Board Member volunteers Details on new groups that participated this year The event was likely the best attended to date Concerns that information developed about the recent loss of heritage buildings could not be shared with the public The management at Bramalea City Centre indicated that they enjoy having this event that the centre Board discussion on this matter included: Re-configuration of the lay-out to attract more people to the displays Possibility of holding the event on a smaller scale at other times throughout the year Possibility of holding the event during the Grand Re-Opening of the Bramalea City Centre Media coverage of the event on Rogers Cable TV HB That the verbal advisory from Mr. Michael Avis, Chair, Outreach and Marketing Sub-Committee, to the Meeting of February 23, 2010, re: Highlight on Heritage Saturday, February 13, 2010 Bramalea City Centre (File G33) be received. F 5. Awards Sub-Committee On behalf of Mr. David Moote, Chair, Awards Sub-Committee, Mr. Paul Willoughby, Co-Chair, provided the following: The sub-committee is working on two nominations for awards under the Ontario Heritage Trust s Heritage Community Recognition Program The two proposed nominees are Ms. Dale O Hara and Habitat for Humanity The sub-committee is ready to submit the nomination for Ms. O Hara and is requesting consideration of a motion for this purpose The nomination of Habitat for Humanity will be brought forward for consideration at a future Board Meeting Page 9 of 17

Heritage Impact Assessments I Creditview Road Ward 6 (File G33): a) Heritage Impact Statement b) Staff Comments The following individuals were in attendance to respond to any questions from the Board: Mr. Greg Callaghan, The Hicks Partnership Inc. (agent for the owners) Mr. Phillip Carter, Architect and Planner Mr. Paul Oberst, Architect Board consideration of this matter included: Confirmation from Mr. Carter that he provided the first-hand comments outlined in the Heritage Impact Statement Details from Mr. Carter and Mr. Oberst with respect to the reasons for the proposal in the Heritage Impact Statement that the existing house be demolished and a replacement dwelling be constructed Confirmation that the subject house is neither designated under the Ontario Heritage Act nor listed on the City s Register of Cultural Heritage Resources Questions about the preservation of the trees on the property, and an indication from Mr. Carter and Mr. Callaghan that efforts will be made to preserve as many of the trees as possible Review of the information and recommendation outlined in the staff comments HB That the Heritage Impact Statement prepared by Mr. Phillip H. Carter, Architect and Planner, and Mr. Paul Oberst, Architect, and the Historical Background Report by Robinson Heritage Consulting, dated December 2009, to the Brampton Heritage Board Meeting of February 23, 2010, re: 8656 Creditview Road Ward 6 (File G33) be received; and, 2. That the staff comments from Ms. Antonietta Minichillo, Heritage Coordinator, Planning, Design and Development, undated, to the Meeting of February 23, 2010, re: Heritage Impact Statement 8656 Creditview Road Ward 6 (File G33) be received; and, Page 12 of 17

Restoration of Alderlea Designated Heritage Property 40 Elizabeth Street South Ward 4 Mr. Alex Taranu, Manager of Urban Design and Public Buildings, Planning, Design and Development, provided an update on demolition of the building addition. J 2. Status of the Investigation into the Demolition of the Heritage Building on the Gummed Papers Factory Site 12 Henderson Avenue Ward 4 Mr. Alex Taranu, Manager of Urban Design and Public Buildings, Planning, Design and Development, provided details on the proposed timelines for the availability of information on this matter. A request was put forward that the information be provided to Board Members via if possible. J 3. Options for the Re-use of the former CP Railway Station Mr. Alex Taranu, Manager of Urban Design and Public Buildings, Planning, Design and Development, provided an update on the reconstruction and re-use of the former CP Railway Station as part of the Mount Pleasant development. It was indicated that the Board s Heritage Resources Sub-Committee would endeavour to find additional information on the property, and that the report would be amended if required. A request was put forward to the City Clerk s Office to ensure that any photographs included with reports on future agendas be printed such that they can be clearly viewed. In response to a question about the provision of information to potential Board Members during the recruitment process to advise them of the expectation that they volunteer additional hours over and above those required to attend monthly Board meetings (i.e. joining at least one subcommittee, attending sub-committee meetings, participating in outreach activities, etc.), Ms. Terri Brenton, Legislative Coordinator, Corporate Services, indicated that she would bring this matter to the attention of the Deputy City Clerk for consideration. It was suggested that Board Members provide Ms. Brenton with an estimate of the number of hours per month they volunteer for Board business over and above the Board meetings. O.
