Participated in the preparation of the SEARCH Master of Architecture Curriculum and leader (in-charge) of the SEARCH Building Science unit, which is part of the Master of Architecture program involving six universities in Eastern and Southern Africa and two in Norway. These include amongst others; Universities of Nairobi and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya, Makerere University, Uganda, University of Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania, University of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and University of Cape Town, South Africa. 2) Current Research activities ( ) Musau Kimeu is particularly interested in addressing environmental issues in architecture. His current research activities are centred on the environmental performance of buildings and is currently focused on the Impact of buildings on Climate Change, passive and natural cooling strategies in Tropical Upland (e.g. Nairobi) and Warm-Humid (coastal) climates, Swahili architecture, design with light & natural ventilation in libraries and also acoustic design & natural ventilation in conference halls. 3) Awards and recognition Energy Management Awards 2015: Architect Musau Kimeu is the Winner of the Green Architect of the Year Award 2015: The Energy Management Award (EMA) is a collaboration between the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Global Facility and the Government of Kenya. It is organized and managed by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers through its Centre for Energy Efficiency and Conservation (CEEC). EMA is a forum where all the stake holders in the energy sector in Kenya converge to auspiciously celebrate excellence in energy management. Energy Management Awards 2014: Winner of the Green Building Award: Awarded to the LRC Building at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Karen, 4) Recent responsibilities ( ) 2015: Chairman of the Jury for a Students Design Competition for the design of the All Saints Cathedral Children and Teens Ministry Centre at All Saints Cathedral, The competition commenced on 1 st September 2015 and culminated with the announcement of the Competition winner and Presentation of Awards on 01 November : Member of the International Jury and Rapporteur of the International Architectural Design Competition for the design of the Faisal Islamic Bank Headquarters, Sudan & Al Faisal Cultural Centre in Khartoum in which more than 50 of the top consultancy companies worldwide were invited to participate. The competition was organised by Faisal Islamic Bank, Sudan under the kind patronage of his Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Al-Faisal of Saudi Arabia. The competition commenced on 10 January 2014 and culminated with the announcement of the Competition winner on 04 June

3 2013: Member of the Jury and Steering Committee of the Regional Student Design Competition for a model Youth Empowerment Centre that would serve the needs of the youth in communities in East Africa. The competition was organised by Triad Architects in consultation with the East African Institute of Architects (E.A.I.A) to celebrate Triad Architects Golden jubilee in 2013 and involved students from all the University Schools of Architecture in the East Africa countries. 10 PRACTICE: 1) 2005 Founded the firm Musau Kimeu, Architect. Designed, prepared drawings and supervised the construction of the award winning LRC at CUEA: The Learning Resource Centre at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi which consists of three buildings namely a 3000 seater ultra modern university library, state-of-the-art 1200 seater Conference hall and a 350 seater Cafeteria. (Responsibilities: Architect and Design Consultant). The LRC won the Green building Award in Designed, prepared drawings and currently at tendering stage of an executive maisonette in Syokimau Estate, Athi River. Designed, prepared drawings and currently supervising 2 executive duplex blocks each consisting of four apartments in Thome Estate, Designed, prepared drawings and currently supervising an executive maisonette in Sabaki Estate, Athi River. Designed, prepared drawings and currently supervising a Formation House for Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent De Paul in Langata, Designed, prepared drawings and supervised a Classroom block at Upper Campus, The Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Karen/ Langata, Nairobi consisting of 5 Lecture Halls, a Moot Court, 3 Computer classrooms, 4 other classrooms and 18 offices and two concrete water tanks of 150,000 litres capacity each.
