To find out if it is free for you, ask your Housing Association Landlord if they are members of HomeSwapper. For more information visit Why are some properties not advertised? The vast majority of available Council and Housing Association properties are advertised via Homebid. However, there are reasons why some are not: If the Housing Association landlord is not a Homebid partner. The vast majority of Housing Associations are Homebid partners. However, some Housing Associations that have properties with support in the City hold their own waiting lists and let their own properties. The property is adapted for someone with disabilities. Properties that are wheelchair accessible or/and have special features such as a through floor lift, are usually let directly to suitable applicants with an assessed need for such adaptations A property is needed to resolve an exceptionally urgent rehousing need, such as an urgent decant due to fire or flood. Why are some properties withdrawn after being advertised? We advertise properties before they are empty, to ensure properties do not stand empty for any longer than absolutely necessary. However, this does mean that on occasion properties have to be withdrawn altogether because they are no longer going to become empty, or re-advertised if on inspection the property type is different to that detailed in the original advert. Properties may also have to be withdrawn if they are needed to resolve an exceptionally urgent housing need, such as an urgent decant due to fire or flood. Homebid magazine 11
