Margaret Gertrude SCHIMMEL was born on July 17, 1870, in Shelby County, Ohio. She was the last of eight known children born to George SCHEMMEL and Theresia ENGESSER. I am unsure who raised Margaret Gertrude SCHIMMEL, but in the 1870 Dinsmore Township Census (June 23, 1870), Theresa (ENGESSER) SCHEMMEL (age 33), and children Francis, John, & Matilda, (and pregnant with Margaret - born less than a month later), were living with Louis & Mary SCHMIDT, and their sons Joseph & George.
