ACCP COUNTRY REPORT 2015 IAB at a glance Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) was established on February 25, 1972, immediately after the independence of Bangladesh. It runs by an thirteen member Executive Council whose members are elected for a two-year term. Together with the members of Executive Councils, IAB has taken numerous measures to safe guard, promote and develop the profession of architecture in Bangladesh such as inclusion of definition of Architect in Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), updating and revision of BNBC, formation of Building Construction Rules for the different cities, all city corporations and the Local Governments, initiating new chapters/centers of IAB in deferent cities etc.
