No conclusion can be made regarding the division of James McClenny's estate. Johnston County records from 1798 to 30 November, 1801 are missing. Sampson County minutes and other court records have not yet been examined. His date of death is surmised based on dates in his will which is on record 1793, Johnston County, North Carolina. His will, which was dated 27 November, 1792 and was proved on 27 August, 1793 states: WILL of James McClenny Dated: November 27, 1792 Proved: August 27, 1793 "In the name of God Amen, I JAMES M,cLeny.. etc. Executors: SAMUEL LEE & NATHAN GODWIN.
