Obediah Obe Tabor was born August 20, 1853, in Tazewell County, Virginia, and died March 17, 1920, in Raleigh County, West Virginia. He married Lou Emma J. Honaker on August 14, 1873, in Mercer County, West Virginia. Lou Emma was the daughter of William Honaker and Sarah French. She was born January 27, 1853, in Mercer County, Virginia, and she died November 3, 1936, in Raleigh County. Emma apparently married Samuel C. Obediah and Lou Emma are buried at the Tabor Cemetery, at Saxon, in Raleigh County. Children of Obediah Tabor and Luemma Honaker are: 1. Mary Ann "Mollie" Tabor was born July 8, 1875, in Raleigh County, West Virginia. She married Columbus W. Lum Darlington on April 10, 1894, in Raleigh County. Columbus was born April 20, 1868, at Page, Fayette County, West Virginia, and died June 15, 1942, in Saxon, Raleigh County. Columbus was buried at Saxon on June 17, 1942. Columbus was the son of John Johnson Darlington and Ruth Ingram who were married on January 9, 1851, in Fayette County. Children of Mary Tabor and Columbus Darlington are: -1 Myrtle Blanche Darlington was born April 14, 1895, at Saxon. Myrtle died May 29, 1980, in a nursing home, in Raleigh County. She was buried June 1, 1980, at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, Raleigh County. Myrtle married Anthony Ross Allen on June 20, 1914. Anthony was born December 3, 1892, at Jesse, Wyoming County, West Virginia, and died August 19, 1947. Jesse was the son of William Lewis Allen and Sarah Jane Gunnoe.

-2 Fred Darlington was born July 9, 1897, in West Virginia. -3 Kelley Franklin Darlington was born November 8, 1899, in Raleigh County. He died September 2, 1933 in a coal mine accident at Montcoal, Raleigh County. He was buried at Saxon. Kelley married Sadie Ethel Kirby about 1900. -4 Minnie Maude Darlington, born June 6, 1901, in Saxon, died February 26, 1975. She married Winifred Montgomery Manning on April 23, 1919, in Arnett, Raleigh County. Winifred was born June 3, 1899, and died December 26, 1977. He was the son of Andrew Johnson Manning and Clementine Clem Trump. -5 William Willie Darlington was born about 1905 in West Virginia. -6 Dennie Ray Darlington was born April 23, 1906, in West Virginia. He married Bessie Louise Betty Lucas who was born September 29, 1907, in Raleigh County. Bessie died February 3, 1993, in an Oak Hill care center, Fayette County. She was buried February 5, 1993, at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, Raleigh County. Betty was a daughter of William Clark Lucas and Elmira Milam. -7 Blake Darlington was born in October 1909 in West Virginia. -8 Grover C. Darlington was born April 20, 1914, in Raleigh County. He died May 7, 1929, in Beckley, Raleigh County. 2. Sarah Julina "Sally" Tabor, born January 27, 1877, in Raleigh County, died November 5, 1949. She was buried November 8, 1949, at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. She married George Washington Bolt on September 10, 1898, in Raleigh County. George was born November 4, 1866, at Laurel Fork, Carroll County, Virginia. He died September 12, 1943, in a Beckley Hospital. He was buried September 15, 1943, at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. 3. Charles W. "Charlie Tabor was born April 23, 1880, in Saxon, Raleigh County, and died April 29, 1941. He married Sarah Arizona Massey about 1903. Sarah was the daughter of George William Massey and Lydia Rosabelle Acord. She was born April 21, 1886, at Rock Creek, Raleigh County, and died January 23, 1957, at the home of her daughter, Icie Farmer, at Bolt, Raleigh County. She was buried January 25, 1957, probably at the Tabor Cemetery, at Saxon, Raleigh County. Children of Charles Tabor and Sarah Massey are: -1 Icie Agnes Tabor, born August 4, 1904, at Saxon, Raleigh County, died November 5, 1981, in a Beckley hospital, Beckley, Raleigh County. She was buried on November 8, 1981, at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. She married Anthony Aaron Farmer, born June 29, 1897, died November 2, 1984, at Bolt, Raleigh County. Anthony was the son Christopher Columbus Chris Farmer and Virginia Sarah Jenny Mankin. Mrs. Farmer was a member of the Bolt Breckenridge Missionary Baptist Church, Rebekah Lodge, and the Trap Hill Woman s Club, and a life-long resident of Raleigh County. 2

-2 Christie Lee Tabor, born December 17, 1907, at Saxon, Raleigh County, died March 9, 1982, in Beckley, Raleigh County. She was buried on March 12, 1982, at the Tabor Cemetery, Saxon. Christie married Orville Ray Stover, born September 15, 1902, in Clear Creek, Raleigh County. Orville died October 18, 1968, in a Beckley hospital, Raleigh County. He was buried at the Tabor Cemetery, Saxon, on October 20, 1968. His parents were Lewis Franklin Frank Stover and Mary Ann Daniel. Mrs. Stover was the postmaster at Saxon for 50 years, a member of the Star Methodist Church at Saxon, owner and operator of Stover s general merchandise store, and a life-long resident of Raleigh County. -3 Garrett A. Tabor, born July 17, 1909, at Saxon, Raleigh County, died June 15, 1971, at his home, Arnett, Raleigh County. He married Sylvia R. Wills on April 25, 1930, in Raleigh County. Sylvia was born November 9, 1909, at Zada, Raleigh County. Sylvia died September 12, 2004, in the Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley. She was buried September 15, 2004, at the Tabor Cemetery, Saxon. Her parents were William Edward Wills and Virginia Milam. -4 Velton Emerel Velt Tabor was born February 23, 1911, at Saxon. He died December 28, 1928, in Saxon, and was buried December 30, 1928, at the Tabor Cemetery, Saxon. -5 Charles E. Tabor, born January 17, 1919, at Saxon, Raleigh County, died June 18, 1972, in his home at Melbourne, Florida. He was buried June 22, 1972, probably at Melbourne, Florida. He married Imogene Adkins. -6 Rosabell Tabor was born about 1920. She married James Thomas Jarrell, Jr. He was born about 1923. His parents were James Thomas Jarrell, Sr., and Gladys Emma Jarrell. -7 John Glendale Glen Tabor was born about 1922. John married Lois Evelyn Jarrell who was born December 11, 1923, in Raleigh County, according to her obituary. Lois died June 7, 1995, in Naoma, Raleigh County. She was buried June 11, 1995, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, Raleigh County. -8 Bobby Warren Tabor was born May 8, 1925, in Raleigh County. He died February 17, 1946, in Charleston General Hospital, Kanawha County, West Virginia, as the result of injuries from an automobile accident. He was buried February 19, 1946, at the Tabor Cemetery, Saxon, Raleigh County. 4. Hester Lula Tabor, born August 22, 1885, in Raleigh County, died January 18, 1954, at her home at Glen Daniel, Raleigh County. She was buried January 20, 1954, at the Calfee Cemetery, Mount Tabor, Raleigh County. She married Joel Aden Surratt who was born May 7, 1884, and died in October 1966. Joel is the son of Joseph A. Surratt and Minerva Angeline Dove Pettry. Children of Hester and Joseph: -1 Charles William Surratt was born August 16, 1905, and died March 2, 1979. He is buried at the Surratt-Lemon Cemetery at Arnett, in Raleigh County. Charles married Daisy Ray Cottle who was born on December 5, 1905, in Raleigh County. Daisy died November 5, 1990, in a Beckley hospital. She was buried November 8, 1990, at the 3

Surratt-Lemon Cemetery at Arnett. Daisy was the daughter of James Jefferson Jeff and Emily Wills Cottle. -2 Noel Theodore Surratt was born May 3, 1910, at Arnett, Raleigh County. He died January 29, 1987, at his home at Bolt, Raleigh County. He was buried February 1, 1987, at the Surratt-Lemon Cemetery, at Arnett. Noel married Grace Alice Gracie Daniel. Grace was born November 4, 1913, in Posey Saxon, Raleigh County. She died January 2, 1998, in a Beckley hospital. Grace was buried January 6, 1998, at the Surratt- Lemon Cemetery, at Arnett. Her parents were Archibald Arch Daniel and Ollie Belle Manning. -3 Benton Paul Surratt was born October 30, 1918, and died April 15, 1982. He was buried at the Surratt-Lemon Cemetery at Arnett. Benton married first Georgia Combs who was born March 8, 1912, and died March 3, 1982. Georgia was buried at the Surratt-Lemon Cemetery, Arnett. Georgia s parents were Fred R. Combs and Ina Webb. Benton married second; however, I have not learned her name. -4 Hester Rose Hessie Surratt was born March 25, 1920, and died May 7, 2000. She is buried at the Surratt-Lemon Cemetery at Arnett. Hester married James Howard Jimmy Roach. 5. Rosa Alice "Rosie" Tabor was born October 22, 1887, in Raleigh County. She died October 20, 1940, in her home at Saxon. Burial was October 21, 1940, at the Henderson Cemetery, Glen Daniel, Raleigh County. Rosa married first James Perry Hunter. He was the son of Jacob Hunter and Cary Cordelia Sarrett. James was born March 12, 1883, at Dry Creek, Raleigh County, and died February 27, 1953, in the Kanawha Valley Hospital, Charleston, Kanawha County. Burial was March 1, 1953, at the family cemetery. Rosa married second William H. "Tally" Acord. William, a widower, was previously married to Martha Ella Allen, a daughter of Larkin F. Allen and Elizabeth Hezeltine Betts Massey. William was the son of Ben Henderson Acord and Nancy Allen. He was born in September 1866 in Raleigh County. William died May 2, 1941, at Glen Daniel, Raleigh County. He was buried May 3, 1941, at the Henderson Cemetery, at Glen Daniel. Children of Rosa Tabor and James Hunter are: -1 Ernest Earl Hunter, born about 1906, married Emma Turner. Emma s parents were Ennis Roscoe Turner and Rebecca Ann Buzzard. -2 Sylvia Hester Hunter, born June 22, 1908, at Posey-Saxon, Raleigh County, died October 11, 1997, in Beckley. Sylvia was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, on October 14, 1997. She married James Gilbert Pettry on October 22, 1925. James was born March 6, 1905, at Pine Knob, Raleigh County, and died October 11, 1984, in a local hospital in Raleigh County. He was buried October 14, 1984, at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. James was the son of James Erkie Pettry and Armanda Jane Maudie Peters. 4

-3 Chessie Mae Hunter was born August 8, 1910, at Saxon, Raleigh County. Chessie died January 24, 2003, in Sarasota, Florida. Burial was January 28, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Chessie married James Oley McGraw who was born April 2, 1910, at Bolt, Raleigh County. Oley died March 20, 1986, in Monroe Regional Medical Center. Burial was March 24, 1986, at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Oley was the son of Oley Bert McGraw and Cora Snuffer. -4 Hansford Carl Hunter was born March 24, 1913, in Raleigh County. He died August 11, 1940, in an automobile accident near Naoma, Raleigh County. Burial was August 13, 1940, at the Shilo Church Cemetery, Saxon, Raleigh County. Hansford married Helen (Hallie) Fleshman. -5 James Paul Hunter, born October 14, 1916, in West Virginia, died March 7, 1989, in a Beckley hospital, Raleigh County. Burial was on March 10, 1989, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, Raleigh County. We don t have the name of James Paul Hunter s wife, but he was survived by nine children, 33 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Children of Rosa Tabor and William Acord are: -6 William C. Acord. -7 Sallie Ilene Acord was born September 18, 1921, in Raleigh County. She died December 31, 1933, in the home of her parents, at Bolt, Raleigh County. She was buried on January 1, 1934, at the Henderson Cemetery, Glen Daniel, Raleigh County. -8 Louemma Jane Acord, born December 14, 1923, at Saxon, Raleigh County, died January 16, 2001, in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, Raleigh County. She was buried January 19, 2001, at the Marion Cemetery, at Sandlick, Raleigh County. Louemma was married several times. We have identified the following marriages: Louemma married Leonard Holly Dickens. Leonard was born April 9, 1901, and died October 2, 1975. Leonard was the son of James Franklin Dickens and Delilah Miller. Lou Emma married William Dawson McMillion who was born April 7, 1911, in Metalton, and died December 5, 1960. William was the son of Phillip Sheridan McMillion and Ella Blanche Bosworth. Louemma married James Ballard Massey, who was born May 24, 1859, in Raleigh County, and died July 6, 1934, at Arnett, Raleigh County. James was buried July 7, 1934, at Arnett. He was the son of Andrew Jackson Jack Massey and Lucinda Wills. Louemma s last marriage was to the Reverend Tom Marion who died June 27, 1988 in Raleigh County. -9 Opal Acord married Kyle Norman Wilbur Lively. Kyle was born January 30, 1926, in Raleigh County, and he died October 2, 2005, in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Wilbur served in the U. S. Army during World War II. His parents were Frank Lively and Stella Stanley. 5

-10 Stover French "Buddy Acord married Norma Jean Daniel, a daughter of French E. Daniel, Sr., and Clara Bell Wesley. 6. Grover Cleveland Tabor was born September 3, 1889, in Raleigh County, and died May 11, 1961, at Bolt, Raleigh County. He married Hattie Mae Allen on December 31, 1913. Hattie was the daughter of William Allen and Sarah Gunnoe. She was born April 3, 1896, in Raleigh County, West Virginia, and died July 17, 1965. Grover was a resident of Bolt for 37 years and was employed at the Naoma store and post office. He was formerly a deputy assessor for many years. Grover and Hattie are buried at the Allen Cemetery, at Bolt, Raleigh County. Children of Grover Tabor and Hattie Allen are: -1 Eugene Tabor. -2 Pauline Tabor married Lowery. -3 Portalee Tabor married Eilerman. -4 Grover Winson Tabor, born July 5, 1926, at Bolt, Raleigh County, died March 10, 1950, in a coal mine accident at Eccles, Raleigh County. Grover was buried March 12, 1950, at the Allen Cemetery, Bolt, Raleigh County. He married Dreama Caye Spencer. 6

7. Chessie Marie Tabor was born April 2, 1895, in Raleigh County. She died July 28, 1987, in a Beckley hospital, Beckley, Raleigh County. She married Robert Clinton Clint Henderson who was born at Glen Daniel, Raleigh County, on December 8, 1888. Clint died May 24, 1986, in a Beckley nursing home, in Beckley, Raleigh County. Chessie and Clint are both buried at the Calfee Cemetery, at Mount Tabor, Raleigh County. Chessie Marie was a Methodist and a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a life-long resident of Raleigh County. Clint was a member of the Shilo Church at Glen Daniel. He was a former tax accessor, farmer, and coal miner having last worked for Raleigh-Wyoming Company at Glen Rogers. He was a United Mine Worker member and a 70-year member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Clint s parents were Harvey Green Henderson and Nancy Clark Davis. Their children: -1 Cleo Henderson. -2 Robert Vern Henderson was born on September 18, 1918, at Glen Daniel, Raleigh County, West Virginia. He died January 31, 1949, in the Beckley Hospital, Raleigh County. He was buried on February 2, 1949, at the Calfee Cemetery, Mount Tabor, Raleigh County. -3 Troy Henderson.
