Powell, stated that Timothy became a christian about 1841 or 1842 and was baptized by the Elder Stephen Batherick. He united with the Free Will Baptist Church. A letter of transfer dated 21 April 1844 was brought to Wisconsin, where he united with the Heart Prairie Free Will Baptist Church of Heart Prairie; transferred to Johnstown Church in 1864 and remained a member there until his death. The obituary also told that he was a man of decided and positive convictions, active in social and moral reforms of the day.
