DECEMBER 2013 COLLMAN EQUESTRIAN PRODUCTIONS NAMED TO MANAGE ESTES PARK FESTIVALS The Colorado Hunter Jumper Association has hired Collman Equestrian Productions to take over running the organization s popular show series in Estes Park, Colo., according to CHJA Board President Tracye Ferguson beginning with the 2014 shows. "CHJA is proud to have Mr. Collman and Collman Equestrian Productions joining the Estes Park Horse Shows. We look forward to introducing many exciting changes to the shows and to creating a unique and fun-filled experience for exhibitors and spectators alike! said Ferguson. CHJA is grateful to our past managers, Tommy McIntyre and Russ Walther for their years of service to our shows- we wish them health and luck now and in the future." Estes Park always has been and always will be a resort destination that offers something for everyone, Collman said. It is a place to plan a family vacation and a place where you can participate in a quality, exhibitor-friendly horse show. Working with both the association and town, we can make these shows once again a must-see stop on the hunter-jumper summer tour. The association s locally rated, and wildly popular, Copper Penny show serves as the preview to the two-week Estes Park Festival. For 2014 these shows run July 17-20 (Copper Penny), July 23-27 (Estes Park Festival I) and July 30-Aug. 3 (Estes Park Festival II). Estes Park III, originally scheduled for August 6-10, will not be held this year but is expected to return in 2015. More information will be posted to the CHJA website at chja.org and the association s Facebook page at facebook/pages/chja. Board of Directors 2 Show Schedule 6 Chris Collman, president of Collman Equestrian Productions, has a long history of riding, showing and working with Colorado horse shows. As a junior rider, he competed at the Estes Park shows in the 1970s. He returned to show there again as a professional in the 1980s.

ADDITIONAL CHJF SCHOLARS EDITOR'S NOTE: Last month we featured several of our recent scholarship winners. Unfortunately, we left out two of our deserving recipients. Thank you to Carol O'Meara for helping set the record straight! Kaitlyn Dwyer received a $2,000.00 scholarship to continue her studies at Colorado State University where she is a Pre-Vet student. In addition to her studies, she is working to reestablish an IHSA team at CSU. She has been described as caring, kind, mature beyond her years, and as having an amazing sense of humor. She has worked as a Nanny and at her barn, and volunteers for Make-A-Wish Foundation and Children s Hospital. Kaitlyn enjoys helping younger riders through camps and clinics. Kaitlyn is trained by Jill Pelzel. A previous Category A Scholarship recipient, Rachel Benson (pictured below) was awarded a $2,000.00 Category B Scholarship to pursue her studies at Red Rocks Community College. She is majoring in Criminal Justice. Described as a great student with a zest for learning, Rachel has continued to with her daily barn duties at Flat Iron Farm, where she is trained by Val Williams. Several years ago, Rachel reinstated the CHJA Junior Committee and spear-headed several projects including Adopt a Platoon, Ride for the Cure, and fund raising for animal shelters throughout the state. Now an amateur rider, Rachel has continued to provide leadership for the Junior Committee. small ad, Big VALue FOXCREEK Mobile Equine Outfitters (303) 413-0179 1750 30 th Street, Ste.86., Boulder, CO 80301 foxcreektack.com
