A Correlation of Scott Foresman Early Reading Intervention to Maryland Voluntary State Curriculum Phonemic Awareness and Phonics Skills Grades Pre-K 1 O/R-75

INTRODUCTION This document demonstrates the high degree of success students will achieve when using Scott Foresman Early Reading Intervention in meeting the Phonemic Awareness and Phonics objectives of the. Correlation page references are to the Teacher s Guides. Early Reading Intervention Based on Project Optimize, this four-part early reading intervention program requires just 30 minutes a day to improve reading achievement. The scientifically researchbased program identifies at-risk children in Kindergarten and Grade 1 with an easy-toadminister Placement Test and check lists to monitor progress. Interactive, systematic instruction in Learning Letter Names and Sounds; Segmenting, Blending, and Integrating; Word Reading; and Sentence Reading provides the structure and support needed to create successful readers..
